  1. If the Wolves had made it to a couple of conference finals or had been consistently dominant in the regular season, I'd make this trade…but they aren't. What they have are building blocks toward eventual title contention, and they need more blocks to get closer first. Simply put, Lillard need to be a final piece trade, and that isn't what he'd be here. I'd focus on players in the early to mid twenties that can grow with this team over another 30+ player that's on the last leg of their prime (see Gobert).

  2. Sorry. But this trade makes about as much as the Gobert trade, which didn't make any sense. Gobert was and is worth no more then one first and a second round pick. Those calling for a Towns trade are doing so because they are hoping that Gobert will suddenly become more of a player then he has ever been. It continually amazes me about how much the media makes about having two big men. Truly stupid. The bigger question for next year is whether or not the wolves will be able to sign both Edwards and McDaniels. I see McDaniel being trade so that the wolves can get an early 1firt round pick for a point guard. Moore, inhis brif appearances showed the potential to take over McDaniels position. Reed backing up Towns, with Garza backing up Gobert. Anderson taking on more of a role as backup point guard. Aside from Goberte. The wolves have the athleticism to have a continually moving offense. No standing in one place for more than a few seconds.

  3. Absolutely not. Kat has better long term value. How many yrs do you think Dame has left? Same with Rudy. If I'm the wolves I'd keep kat til this time next yr. If it still looks bad, trade Gobert and try and recover a 1st rd pic and young player if possible. Same with Mike, we need another good pg. How long will Mike play and at 25-30mpg?

  4. If we traded KAT, we’d have an extra 35 minutes between Naz Reid., Kyle Anderson, and Conley, all very productive players last year (Naz Reid. getting better as well.) Not to mention an aging Conley getting slightly less minutes behind Dame would be a good thing for his overall game. I didn’t realize Dame’s contract had him locked up for that long either, very good thing. I trust his shooting ability to not falter even if his athleticism takes a noticeable hit. I’m on board.

  5. Even after Gobert proves once again he doesn't give a damn about this franchise no matter what he says the trade KAT talk continues. What is Rudy Gobert going to look like while making 41, 43 and 46 million over the next 3 years after playing Euroball, Fiba, and the Olympics back to back to back offseasons after promising to spend the offseason working with Anthony Edwards whom you guys say you want to build the team around. Wembanyama isn't playing for his country when he is just coming to the states for his first extended stay. Gobert and Wemby think they are going to win the Gold medal in next years olymics so Rudy will be a year older after another year trying to kill himself for his country and giving fans nothing but excuses. Gobert defense is sooo good it carries over to the offensive end of the floor. He brought our defense from like 15th to 8th. But he brought our offense from 1st to somewhere in the 20s. Yes KAT missed 53 games and that hurt the offense but also inflated the defensive numbers. Rudy is clearly on the decline yet Mackey wants to pay him 43-46 mill and complain that KAT makes 50 and thats a problem. And hes cool with paying dame 60 million at 36 after Gobert ages out wtf? And Judd how much studing did you do about no trade clauses in the NBA because Beal is the ONLY player in the NBA with one and you said he's one of very few. Goberts commitment to this team is absolutely laughable yet the craziness continues. Conleys aging out as well. Great way to absolutely waste Edwards youth. Start talking about ways to replace Gobert for whatever it is. Yes its a loss nothing can be done about that now. Gobert is a piece of trash Wolves fans are not upset about what Judd said about Rudy. On that I do side with Judd 100%. Screw Rudy and screw the french.

  6. I don't like Gobert playing for France but calling it selfish isn't fair. Team USA has incredible depth so the best players turning it down, doesn't severely cripple how far the team can go. Other countries don't have this so their best players turning down the national team is a much bigger deal and sets them back to a much greater extent.

  7. You guys are forgetting about the new collective bargaining agreement. You can’t have Dame, Gobert, and Edwards. If you trade for Dame now, you’ll be forced to trade him next year and probably get nothing.

  9. I'm not even convinced it would improve the team. From an organizational standpoint it makes no sense to get 5 years older unless they're seriously convinced we're competing for a championship.

  10. No, Dame is playing some of the best basketball of his career, but he's getting into his mid 30s, and his one asset is his scoring. He's one of the best scorers in the NBA, yes, but he's also going to miss games and he doesn't really bring a lot to the table outside of being a really good scorer. I wouldn't trade for him, I'd trade Towns for value. Someone out there in the NBA is going to be willing to overpay for him, and that's what the Wolves should be looking for. Not a straight up trade for some old guy whose best years are probably already in the books.
