  1. The team is built to pass the ball and Dobbs cannot make that happen. Oline grades better in pass pro, TEs have good hands, the receivers are deep. Do you really change the entire offense to fit Dobbs despite his lack of compatibility or do you go with a guy that can run the system?

We also saw what happens when this team turns the ball over, they go 1-4.

  2. This is important. Josh Dobbs is a SHOTGUN quarterback. I am a Tennessean and have been watching Dobbs since he was tearing up the field at Tennessee (with his running back buddy Alvin Kamara). Tennessee ran almost everything from Shotgun. Still does. So do most of the SEC powerhouses. I have noticed that when KOC gets conservative, he puts Josh under center. Some of those work out but unless the handoff is for a great run, they usually do not. On the other hand, going back and looking at the last 4 games, most of Josh's good and great plays are from the shotgun.

My thinking — 1) Dobbs is tall: 6'4. In the Shotgun he can see all the defense from high up – until the last 1/10 of a second. Even while the snap is in the air. Under center he cannot see as well. He is a field general (as are most SEC QB's). He has to see it all most of the time. With Shotgun, his eyes are always downfield.

    2) The Broncos, to some extent, and the Bears, especially, figured how to pin him in the pocket when he starts under center. They also figured how to block the lanes. I think that was a KOC strategy that failed.

Let's face it – with Shotgun, there is by its nature much more room in the lanes from the backfield. They are all further back. I noticed that a LOT of the plays in the Bears game started under center and the defensive line was all over that space — and it was a very small space. There was not much room to move, and less time to think. Josh needs time to think. The "rhythm and timng" works well for many QB's like Cousins and others that have practiced the dropback steps 1000 times and the receivers have their timing down to the 1/10 second, and the QB knows that by instinct. They all have muscle memory there.

But that is a different style play and Josh has almost always played further out.

3.In Shotgun, the QB almost never looks backwards, maybe only on a Jet-behind sweep. That is all. In under center, half the time the QB starts by looking back. Dobbs got killed almost every time he had to take off by running looking back. The Bears had it all figured out and they knew when he started under center, the odds were in their favor. They probably also scouted and knew KOC was planning to move JD under center. Costly mistake.

BTW, in both the Broncos and the Bears comebacks, their QB's got wide-open mostly from the Shotgun. They made it happen, both times. Anyone who has played SEC ball knows that is what you do when you have to make up time and move fast, at least in that league.

    My take.

  3. I don't think Reggie has a good pulse on the Vikings. Blaming the defense for our recent losses and then saying that the Vikings don't think they can win or be in the playoffs so put Hall in and see what you have. What?! Reggie? C'mon bruh..

  4. I think 1 more shot isn't a bad idea, but idk if it's necessarily a good idea. Hall deserves another shot as well. He's only out because of a concussion, not an entire game of ass play against one of the worst teams in the NFL

  5. Yea koc is an idiot ….the way he used Dobbs. Funny after see Dobbs use his legs for crucial 4rd down into 1st….running for tds ….he had time to get his offense so it woukd be Dobbs friendly…koc didn't do this he look like he was on a leash afraid to make plays with his legs ..he should be in shotgun rolling out rpos lol….why he does the opposite
