A teenager has been jailed for nine years and four months for causing the death of three teenagers by dangerous driving after inhaling nitrous oxide and travelling at speeds of more than 100mph.
Thomas Johnson, 19, was behind the wheel of a BMW 3 series when the car crashed into roadside furniture and a tree, killing three passengers, on the A415 in Marcham, near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, last year.
He was jailed at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday over the crash on June 20 2023 which killed Elliot Pullen, 17, Ethan Goddard, 18 and Daniel Hancock, 18.
The court was shown video clips recovered from the phones of those who had been travelling in the car in which a balloon, typically used to inhale the gas, could be seen in Johnson’s mouth.

What a joke 9 whole years and will only do half so around 4 and a half years i guess the guilt he has to live with needs to be punishment enough as clearly the judge thinks he needs next to none.

Thats three years and a few weeks per life, now thats a joke, its should have be 10years at least per life, this is where our judicial system needs reforming with much more stringent harsh sentences instead of a slap on the back of the hand, time for real justice from our courts and on our streets. For me all 4 were reckless? If it wasn't him driving then it might well have been one of the others? They all knew the dangers involved? Very sad and a waste of a young person's life?

Mad how these young lads are getting there hands on bimmers not sure what engine it had but clearly couldn’t handle the car you shouldn’t be allowed to purchase these 2.0 litres or 1.8s what ever it was at such a young age. There are only 2 types of people in comment section. 1. Blaming justice system for giving too little jail sentence. 2. People who think those killed were responsible for their own deaths. The former are people who blame everything for their own failure in bringing up good children. The latter are sensible people who take accountability.
