  1. Such a shame to see this! But good to be aware! By the way, Dan said Castoria was actually a laxative, he was thinking of another one at the time.

  2. It’s always so sad to see this happen. I can’t imagine what’s wrong with a persons soul to make them desecrate a grave. I’ve seen so many Native American graves done this way. So sad….😔❤️🐝

  3. There was a story of graving robing of women’s graves because they were buried in their best with jewelry, not necessarily precious, but antique. I know we buried my parents with their wedding rings. So very sad and infuriating that these people are as gone and unnamed as the people found by Time Team.

  4. Dan and Robert, I seriously think that the one " Rock" you found while tapping for more rock walls, was part of an actualy headstone, cause it really didn't look like a regular rock, it was too flat and in an angle that would not be natural for just a rock..The John Wright Cemetery in Talbot County Georgia..

  5. It is so sad to see that people do this but unfortunately, they do it. I found an attempt at grave robbing at the cemetery i care for, a family plot with a double marker up the hill and someone tried digging in the middle and left their tools (a mattock and shovel?) I covered it up with dirt and rock and the grave has not been disturbed since, i broke the tools and threw them down the hill. Im not sure if they planned on coming back but i am so glad i stopped it

  6. Dan is a wealth of knowledge n Robert you’re learning from one of the best.
Quite an interesting video. I tried to visual
those graves with the wall around them. They had to be a wonderful sight to see. A shame to see how grave robbers would take whatever they thought was valuable to gold teeth to possibly jewelry. So sad, so sad.

  7. Sad to be a witness to this. Desecrating graves is such a shame. Cemeteries have often been completely lost due to the desires of others. In at least one of my family members cemeteries was covered over with a barn and cow pasture. No signs visible. Grave markers gone. This is a place where alnost my entire lineage is wiped out from gggg-grandparents on down to aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. are gone. No eay to visit, add flowers, nothing. Thanks for sharing.

  8. See this is why I beg to differ on these archaeologists that say that American history that's been buried in the past 200 years is not old enough to rescue or preserve these graves. But we'll go out to other countries and dig up their history and try to preserve it…. So why isn't our history just important as any other cultures history. Regardless of how dark, shiny, old or new it is. And were smart enough to know that's why it's called history. Because more history you know the less resentful you are. Every culture in this world had to go through something at some period of time. So back to what I was saying United States of America's history is just as important as Egypt's so now that we are aware that people are now grave robbing.

  9. I read they used to steal bodies from new burials for medical schools back in the 1800's. Yes, I know people used to bury family with Jewlery, but most people do not do that anymore.

  10. Is this True….in Georgia? Who is responsible for the maintenance of an abandoned cemetery?

Legislation…. is in place that identifies what happens to the upkeep and maintenance of an abandoned cemetery.
    >> Usually the 'Local Municipality" becomes responsible for it.
(However, if a connection to the church can be established, the regional council may become responsible)

*Isn't the 'Local Municipality" Responsible for Abandoned Cemeteries….? >> How would you go about requesting they > Clean it up / Maintain it?
