Shining Percy – A Tribute to Britt Allcroft

This won’t be the only tribute to Britt I’ll upload but I thought since I had it in the ‘vault’ I thought it would be appropriate to upload it now since both shows were hers. I think my usual policies are to go out the window in times like these to show respect to the reason why a lot of us are actually here.
This was commissioned a few months back and it hits totally different now with the passing of Britt, she was an inspiration to many, an innovator if you will. Her input on Thomas is the reason why a lot of us are here right now, making these themes, Trainz routes, original stories, custom replicas and so on, Thomas united many young rail fans around the globe and still continues to do so till this day. I want to say thanks to Britt and of course Wilbert Awdry, for creating possibly the best children’s series ever created. Rest In Peace

  1. Rest in peace Britt. Thank you for bringing Thomas the Tank Engine and the Railway Series books to television. It was a wonderful show in the 1980s and 1990s during my childhood and I love the show from those decades. You will be greatly missed. Here's some trivia about the photo, if you look at the white milk tank wagons, you can see black on parts of their domes. That's because the milk tank and tar tank wagons in season 1 of the show were the same wagon, but painted one way on one side and another on the other. This photo reveals that.

  2. What kind of genius has the foresight to mortgage their home to make a show adapting decades old books about obsolete industrial equipment the target audience of children wouldn’t have even been alive to see in daily use? Thanks Britt.

  4. Nobody will force you to make Thomas music rn but if you wanna release more stuff, it is completely understandable why, I’m sure she’s happy we’re still celebrating this series legacy

  5. Thank you Britt Allcroft for changing my life. Without her I don’t know what I’d be doing. It’s because of her I like trains, and by extension, think about the things that I do. And for that I am so grateful for her.

  6. I have some old Thomas DVDs the stop motion, and I had thought about watching some, then I heard this news a few days ago and if I watched them now I’d just end up ugly crying.
