Popp, you spent 33 years in and say we're hairless evil monkies. Going to combat is in the human genome – killing to survive, no matter the reasons (real or fabricated) is pretty damn natural. There are people who don't realize that even a deer will eat meat to survive, but they call that "unnatural".
Edit: granted I never killed anyone, but after countless close calls over 4 deployments and 5 close friends getting killed, I've compartmentalized. That's natural as well. Our predecessors never complained about fighting in war.

I quit corporate Amerika over a year ago. Out of the 50+ people with whom I worked there was not a single one who wasn't a useful idiot. Not one. However, each one of them considered themselves an ideological, moral and geopolitical genius. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so what gives? It was positively maddening working alongside them and listening to their mass myopic bloviating every day. One herd with one voice, marching lockstep off the cliff and into the abyss.

This is the real truth. Even if you hate Israel. You keep the people that want you dead for being an infidel over there, so there are less of them over here.
