  1. I know it's difficult to quantify, but I would love to hear her opinion on how much it would benefit/aid a learner of a biblical language, like Greek, to memorize a whole book while learning the language.

  2. 1:00 I paid my daughter to memorize Mathew 5. Then we kind of bragged about it then we read Matthew 6 where it says, don't do your acts of righteousness among men to be seen by them…We looked at each other and laughed:)

  3. Dear Ellie your brilliance in devoting yourself to the study of the Old Testament is wonderful and you should be congratulated by those of us who love the Old Testament and your mission inspired by our Yeshua to memorize Job moves my soul deeply since it is now engrained in your blood which is profound and a great gift to meโ€ฆthank you for your marvelous gift which I shall now study with you ๐Ÿ“–โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘โ—๏ธ

  4. Thank you so much for this! I confess, whenever I get to Job my goal is to get through it–you might even say "get it over with". This interview added so much depth and perspective to my understanding of the book. I'm excited to go read it again.

  5. I think the fact Job is found in the Wisdom literature rather than history or other narrative literature indicates it is a lesson and not a factual story, like Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon.

  6. There IS a reason no English version I know of says Job comforted himself. HALOT defines the first two meanings as:

    โ€”1. to regret: a( to become remorseful Ex 1317 Ju 218 ืžึดืŸ) because of(, 1S 1529 Jr 428 156 2016 Ezk 2414 Jl 214 Jon 39 Zech 814 Ps 10645 1104; bื ึดื—ึทื ืขึทืœ ( to regret something Ex 3212.14 Is 576 Jr 86 188.10 Jl 213 Am 73.6 Jon 310 42 1C 2115; = ื ึดื—ึทื ืึถืœ 2S 2416 Jr 263 .13.19 4210; c( abs. to repent Jb 426 ):: Dale Patrick VT 26 (1976):369ff);
