While I think Anakin and shadows characters may be similar, I can't say I see Hayden in the role I feel like his voice just wouldn't feel right Hayden is kinda a little to moniton for my liking, at least when he was playing anikin that is. Also I don't see Shadows rich deep voice with Hayden. Just my opinion but I do believe there are many other choices that I would prefer over this one.

Honestly as someone who loves Keanu Reeves, I cannot see him playing Shadow. He’s probably way too expensive to hire for Sonic 3s budget and he’s also way too obvious of a casting. Remember when no one expected Idris Elba as Knuckles and then he punched it out of the park. The unexpected casting choices seem to be the be the best when it comes to the Sonic movies. Lol
I don't think the rumour is legit, you've done some digging and it's completely baseless. But there's a chance that it turns out to be the case, which I wouldn't really mind, but I'd honestly prefer if they either had one of Shadow's previous actors, or cast someone a little less well known. I don't want the casting choices to be more influenced by "well it'll make the movie perform higher!", I want the casting choices to be influenced by them thinking it'd be a good fit. That is, I want them to find a voice actor for Shadow because they want a voice actor for Shadow, not because they wanna create a marketing opportunity.
