Podcast is Called : ASN Humans Are Space Orcs , HFY and other stories
————–
This Story is Classified as HFY or Humanity Feck, Yea , but what does the Mean?
————-
HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.
————-
Taken from the FAQ of the r/HFY subreddit.
Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don’t always put a positive spin on humanshumanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

For DA SKWERL and his Nest
Damm the 2nd Story was Good.
We R Us…
enjoyed both stories but the last one held my attention the most
thanks for the narration
Greetings, Mentlegent!
For the Rhyhtm that is Algo
Story 1: Humans reminded everyone that Dakka is very effective
Story 2: Oh, now that's sad
../…<(T_T)>…../
I don't want to be alone
7:24 "Surrounded? You mean target rich envioment, that's when we're in our element"
Don't try telling humans how to wage war. Even if they are new to the galactic stage, they'll just laugh at you.
In some ways it might be good if that last story was true, AND that it was known that those were the rules.
2nd Story:
Dathan and Picard, at El Adrill.
Timba, at rest.
Here I am again, sobbing openly at my phone, to the extreme distress of my husband's cat. Great storytelling, thank you!
I always thought it was, "If it ain't broken, break it."
You can't hack a rotary phone.
The second one got me.
I like the second story alot!
Damn the second one punched me in the gur with feelings
Thanks for reading this as a real human and not some soulless AI voice like all of the other HFY channels. Kyle Hill's science youtube channel just recently released a video about spammy AI channels based in India, Russia, China, etc. They plagiarize everything and profit from it. Profit from other's hard work. I'm not a youtube creator but that infuriates me. People have enough trouble monetizing their content now we have spammers and scammers stealing from everyone & everything. Some countries, like China, have nearly no concept of intellectual property as the state owns everything (both literally and figuratively). That's why a lot of knock-off/pirated VHS & DVDs (1980s-1990s) used to come from China. Edit: fixed spelling
Hitting the like button like a kinetic weapon… for the author and narrator with energy
I liked the second story, but what happens to those who weren't killed? Those who died from disease or some other natural cause. Do they get a Grim Gatherer instead of a Reaper?
Also, I hope it's not a generalized rule. It would be pretty bad to be murdered and then have to wait until my murderer dies so that they can come get me again
A minor note. Y'all is pronounced the same as the ya in yaw (pitch, roll, yaw) followed by a "luh" sound . Un-contacting "y'all" to "you all" should be avoided at all costs it just sounds wrong. Love form the Southern US.
Those who forget "more dakka" are doomed to die by it.
that 2nd story… oof.
For the Algorithm and the Agro
first story reminds me of how the germans tried to ban trench gun during WWI lol
The darn Onion Ninjas got me with that last story.
What is the name of the background music in the second story?
Who's the fool that shot a whiskey flask FROM THE IRISH MAN'S HAND!?!?!?!?!
again both great storys, butt the second one whas short and heartfelt, gave me a flash back to the movie enemy mine.
Thanks for being so entertaining. You do a first class job !!
He he kinetic gun go Brrrrrrr 8:42
Excellent story hail the squirrel.
"now rendered inhabitable due to constant warfare."
So, were they using terraforming bombs or something?
1st story: Loved it. The "indentured" form of "slavery" isn't actually slavery, and it was first practiced under law by the Tribes of Israel about 3400 years ago. Others had "indentured servitude" but without protections in law for those "paying their debt". Still not a nice state of affairs, but there is a certain justice to it: if you are in debt and cannot pay, then you work off that debt. With enough legal protections in place (to stop abuses, etc) then… meh. Better than having interest piled onto interest and yet more piled on six seconds later.
And the second… yeah… I'd have done the same. I'd not want to be alone. Nor leave the other soldier to wait alone. We killed each other. It was honourable. We can link hands, go into the here-after together, and leave the war behind to continue without us. "And when I get to heaven to Saint Peter I will tell, 'Please let me in, sir: I've served my time in hell.'"
Always love a good "humans throw rocks" story 😀
Also, I just love the visual in my head of ships dropping out of hyperspace right in front of the enemy to deliver the point blank blows.
Together we go into the night…
For the Algorithm, for the Author(s), for the Holographic Voice!
I have to say, I really enjoy your reading of these stories. I listen to quite a few similar folks, and you are by far my favorite. Thank you!
