  1. The Panama Canal is such an interesting story. It was started by the French in 1881 but abandoned in 1889 due to engineering challenges and disease. The U.S. took over in 1904 and finished it in 1914.

What’s even more surprising is that Panama didn’t pay the U.S. for the canal. Instead, the U.S. paid Panama $10 million upfront and $250,000 annually under the 1903 Hay-Bunau-Varilla Treaty, controlling the canal until its transfer to Panama in 1999, all for free!

By the way, do you think Latin America is closer to the USA, Canada, or China? It’s kind of baffling how some people act with such ignorance, especially when they’re unaware of things like deportations. At this stage, no one truly owes anyone anything until you stop dehumanizing and blindfolding others. It’s like look where your from, have some respect. Can't even read.

It just feels like their values don’t hold up when they end up doing things that hurt others. And hurt people, hurt people. That's all. China🎎

  2. Just remember when the Brits and French took military action to take back the Suez Canal that they owned.

Guess which country was the first to stab us in the back.

Yep the back stabbing YANKS, we can’t trust you yanks ever.

I hope China build a huge military base in Panama and Columbia.

  3. As a Panamanian-American living in Panama, and an International affairs graduate I ask you to please do some more research on the topic. Consider that what you currently are being told isnt true.

The “chinese” companies in Panama “operating” the canal only operate 2 out of 6 different ports. 1 of which is operated bu the UsA.

Hutchinson ports (the chinese company) operates these ports since 1997, panama got control of the canal in the year 2000. Why is it suddenly an issue now?

Panamas ACP has managed the canal effectively for 25 years. Over 6,500 panamanians work there.

In 2016 Panama finished the expansion of the canal. A modern separate set of locks. Basically a new canal. They did this by themselves, and 55% of all income from the canal comes from these new locks.

Please go search all of this. And if its not enough, come visit for yourself. Panama is one of the Only allies of the US in the region, and we have been for many years.
