  1. Nice cars look cool in the driveway but you don't get the fun and memories out of them doing rowdy $#!+ in it🤷‍♂️. Btw love the channel. Got my first rx7 about a month ago. It's an 84 and I'm still going through the fuel system.

  2. truth is, if you sold everything for an FD you would enjoy it for 1/2yr then probably get a bit bored and want to start messing with other cars. there won't be other junk cars like your junk cars to buy. you bought them for a reason, big reason or little

  3. Completely understand your feelings there but I'll say from the standpoint of a consumer of your content, seeing fbs get some much needed attention has been the most beneficial thing with these cars.

  4. Still driving my 2007 Chevy colorado full of Texas tornado horsepower that dies on me every once in a while, needs a new set of speakers, and has a headlight that falls out every once in a while.

  5. I've had just the one dream rig and it's great for a little while then you want to do everything the dream rig can't do. I think slowly building the dream rig along with all of your other stuff is the way to go

  6. Love your channel, got a lot of help from you😀
Maybe try to find a bad, ´cheap´ FD and build it up your way? With a 3 rotor ofcourse 😏

  7. Oh my you guys need to get OUT of my head. So many thoughts it'll be hard to do in comments so I'm going to break this up into this one and replies. I go through this often. In fact just last night and this morning after spending the weekend at the Miata Reunion I'm getting that nagging thought of I could probably sell the RX-8 and the NA Miata and get a decent pre-owned ND and be done with the 26 year old car and aging RX-8 issues. I'd still have my wife's NC PRHT and her Mazda 6 and my truck. But I really have emotional attachments to the NA and RX-8. The NA was the fulfillment of a long dream after not having any "interesting" cars since 2015 (got it March 2020) and the RX-8 came to me through a friend. We'd discussed me buying it for years and then things amazingly worked out for that to also happen in late 2020.

  8. The FD is a money pit in any scenario, but well worth it given market value and serene-driving experience. I’m sentimental about cars, and value them as if they had a spirit of themselves. What makes things easier when selling, is knowing that the car you hesitate to sell, is going to someone who values them as much as you do. My dream car is a RX7 FB. I come from a household of Mopar and Mustangs and I’m a rotary fan, but I keep things original 😄I think having 4 project cars max, your 1-2 dream machines, track monster, and a reliable daily is the best way to healthily-manage your car enthusiasm…just some food for thought. Can’t stretch yourself too thin and when the quantity increases, the quality decreases.

  9. Anytime I consider selling everything for one badass car I realize my wife will tax some of it and when you have just one car and it breaks you can't make the track day or the car show or any fun car day

  10. Fd’s are light and nimble cars they don’t need high hp to entertain the driver. I am in the works of going single efr turbo. Atomic Rex manual steering, Aqua mist sys and front brembo bbk. Hoping circa 400hp with sard and radium fuel gear. That will be more the enough to keep me entertained. Having my FD since ‘06, time to show it some love. If you can get it then get on it ASAP. Price’s are climbing. Chur.

  11. I've had my FD since 2004, early on it felt like a bargain sportscar, with weird rotary quirks. Today it feels like it has become a 'nice car' that I'm afraid to wreck because they are getting more rare and expensive each year. People of certain ages notice it and are excited to see one in real life.
I think it makes sense to have one 'nice' car with just a few easy mods, one cheaper/ less rare car you can modify and race, and one daily driver (or tow vehicle) that is only modified if those mods add reliability or comfort. If you enjoy driving the C6 Z06 Corvette, I'm not sure you can modify an FD to be a better car in terms of handling and power and reliability, it simply doesn't have as much room for tires as the Corvette chassis. I think a 13B turbo or 20B non-turbo swap into an RX8 might be interesting, they aren't as pretty as FDs but they can fit bigger tires and they are more comfortable to drive around in. I like the idea of a very clean 1st or 2nd Gen RX7, but if you're looking for youtube views I think the FD is probably the car to make that happen. Personally I'm watching your channel because you tear down and rebuild rotary engines, and that's something I want to learn about. It doesn't need to be a certain chassis for me.

  12. I live in Australia and have a daily 2018 4×4 ute (pickup), a 1981 RX7 which I've owned for 29 years and a 1978 Fairlane which I'm restoring. My advice is keep the cars that are important to you now. Don't sell any car thinking you will buy another one later – it almost never happens. In Australia, these old cars (pre-2000) are now starting to be worth big money because they are becoming scarce and very desirable. The number of people that want to buy my RX7 is crazy.

  13. I think you should be looking for sponsorship to help with your builds, maybe Mazdatrix, Atkins, an oil supplier, classic car insurance company, tyre companies etc. I think that would help with getting you to the next level and getting the cars you want to build/own. I enjoy the stuff you are doing, the fb and rx8 are pertinent to me as that's what I have. We also get to see a lot of other rotaries, the repu, fd's, etc. Maybe you could get a bit wild and build an 18A fb, I'm sure with your engineering background this is possible. Billet Boss in OZ would be able to build you the e shaft and off you go from there (even the likes of Rob what's his name and the Angel motorsport duo get there long motor e shafts from nz or oz). I also think you should get rid of the corvette and get a GTR.

  14. Yea, the first care I bought with my own money and saving up was an RX8. Owned it for 2 and a half years, and it started to have the hot start issue. Ended up needing a work truck, so I had to sell it to get one. I stumbled on to your channel and I realized I miss the old thing. So I sold some stuff, went out and bought a black one with no engine. It’s not to bad, needs a new window and bumpers. But you kinda inspired me to maybe start a new channel and just record me fixing it up piece by piece. And somewhat on a budget, I ran out of stuff to sell lol.

  15. Everyone wanted Bitcoin for $200. Now it's $20k.
Everyone wanted an FD. Now they too are expensive.
The SA22c (FB) drives like a sloppy old car. The FC drives like a go-kart. The FD RX-7 is like having the sexist and most attractive girlfriend that nobody can take their eyes off.

  18. Make a product giveaway and possibly sell your future cnc machined pieces for entries. Prize could be a not soo memorable 1st gen project you have. This could possibly give you extra funds to buy an FD and keep all the other gems. Truth is, your cars are RAD and everyone in the first gen world dreams to have the time, money, love and patience that you put into your cars. We would love to make new memories with those cars. Shoot, there could even be a rad ranch rotary reunion in the future!
