Sky News host Rita Panahi has slammed Australia’s net zero “insanity”.

“We’re sitting on enormous reserves of everything that we need to have the cheapest energy in the world,” Ms Panahi said.

“This is insanity, self-inflicted harm to appease some climate god.”

  8. Labors energy policy. Is when you get trapped by your words. Where people made stupid claims that were outright lies. And just kept repeating the lies. That global temperatures are not cooling.

    That green energy – is simply another form of energy – that wants a slice of the global energy money pot spent every year on energy. The cost of energy around the world is a trillion dollar industry. So – you can bet there are a lot of people – who want a slice of that pie. You don't have an economy – without energy. Full stop.

    And you also have to have the brains – to work out. If someone has inefficient machines like solar panels – electric windmills – and solar batteries – that are not carbon neutral. They are dug up out of a mine pit – refined – made into machines – like any other machine – have a finite life. They know they have a huge problem. They COST MORE and are INEFFICIENT.

    So how do you get around the road blocks of cost and inefficiency. You find absolutely stupid politicians who – are clueless clowns. Tell them they can play GOD and save the planet. And that is the sales marketing pitch. Or the art of scam. And labor fell for the art of the scam. That if you don't do your due diligence – fool you.

    And labor forgot – it still had to build new oil refineries – nuclear power stations – open new oilfields. The reason you choose that mix. Is so one form of energy does not dominate. That you have other options. That keeps a competitive – energy market place. You lock onto one form of energy. That's the moment – the people selling you the technology – have got you. And can charge anything they like – for the bits you need – to make electricity.

    Energy has to be a mix – of different technologies. It's getting that mix right – is the secret to the answer. And government in Australia – needs a far more mature and sober debate then labors hysterics.

    That so called green energy machines – are for stand by applications – off grid – and for people who want to reduce their electricity bill. They have a use – however you have to use them in the way they were intended to be used.

    So you maintain – a strong small green energy industry – that supplies solar panels – solar batteries – to the right applications. That is not a problem.

    What labor failed to see was. Could they roll out that policy – for isolated people on remote farming stations – where now there are thousands of miles of poles and wires running the electricity grid – and very small towns – say 100 people and under. That green energy systems – would have filled those roles – perfectly.

    And you cut back the cost of replacing hundreds of thousands of power poles – running to very remote locations – in each state in Australia.

    And instead of the crazy – funding policies. Simply offer anyone who wants green energy on their house a 50% rebate on the installation cost. And just let the people who want that technology – decide if they want it for themselves.

    Nuclear – there are newer options out there now – coming into the market place. The U.K. got caught out building – huge new nuclear reactors. That it bought from France. And because the U.K. has not built nuclear reactors since the 1960's – and they want all the work supplying all the build parts in the U.K.. The extra cost – is establishing – those new industries – to make all the parts – for – a new industry. That is the argument labor is using – in it's idea of costs. However the U.K. nuclear reactors are the largest you can build. And labor forget – the highest cost is the first one you build. You learn everything from that exercise. Then you get the costs down – as you build the infrastructure – that underpins your nuclear energy plans.

    The smaller modular nuclear reactors – can be built quicker – and use a lot less water. And choosing the right nuclear reactors – is going to be the key to getting them – set up in Australia.

  9. There is no net zero when mining materials, manufacturing, transporting, installing, maintaining the equipment for alternative (always wrongly labelled as "renewable" when nothing is renewable) energy require conventional energy.

  19. How does net zero even work anyway? Last time I balanced chemical equations in high school, there were no plus or minus symbols… Where does "negative" carbon dioxide come from? Is it like anti-matter. If we produce enough negative carbon dioxide it cancels out the positive carbon dioxide? If it is some creative accounting, then it's not based in reality… So technically, we've departed from reality.. Gosh, can't understand why things have gone wrong.

  24. Soon Alaska will be very noisy and busy. Many drilling companies will soon commence their activities there. And i pray when Grren land become ours we will bring in mining companies to Dig Baby Dig. Lots of precious minerals to be excavated. 😍

  28. Fact Put 5 liters of diesel in a generator and charge your electric car you will now go at least 60% further than putting that 5 liters in a combustion engine. When paying for energy electric wins hands down.

    There is no such thing as Green Energy, there is only Energy.
    Wind & Solar are intermittent.

    Base Load must be Nuclear, Gas or Coal. Facts.
