  1. This whole playthrough chat has been flaming celeb for playing defensive like dark souls and not playing aggressive. So its so funny seeing chat salty when celeb is playing aggressive and beats the owl in no time when everyone was hyping him up to beat a really difficult boss. The save in grace is that the 2nd owl fight is slapping celeb around

  2. Both Owls were sort of frustrating to me my first time around, because he fights dirty. He has 2 variations of the shuriken throw; when he throws 2, he then leaps in the air and slams down. If he throws just 1, he immediately dashes, keeps a low stance, and sweep attacks you. That's meant to throw you off; Seeing one shuriken will make you look up, but then he comes in from below, I love that. It keeps you on your toes, you only have like half a second to identify which variation of the shuriken throw he's using, and then you gotta react to it.
If you get your guard broken, he'll also just straight up deathblow you if he catches you with his kick. You gotta dash away in the perfect moment, or you're screwed.
The "attack" where he throws the little smoke bomb that seals your healing is also the perfect opportunity to attack (especially if you use mortal draw) if you feel confident in your parrying skills. That shit lasts for 40 seconds or so, so you better be gud lmao
His firecracker to slash combo killed me many, many times. I learned to identify it was coming by his elbow strike, and when he threw me back, I immediately jumped back and out of the way. But I just figured out that if you do a thrust attack (hold R1) just as he knocks you away and throws the gunpowder, he will not Mikiri you, as he's in the middle of an animation, and you'll get a free hit in instead of backing off.

  3. That was kind of a weird Owl fight. Maybe they just didn't make it into the final cut, but it felt like he wasn't using half his moves. No firecrackers, no poison, I didn't even see that annoying heavy swing that staggers you even if you parry it.

Old man tried to brute force it, but couldn't keep up.

  4. Owl Father is the hardest boss in the game imo. The big optional and the two finals come close but I think Owl Father surpasses them.

Also Sekiro and Bloodborne are same universe! Divine Dragon is a Great One. It comes from a higher dimension and those who come in contact with it mutate and change. Those who drink the fountainhead water start looking very similar to the hamlet people from Bloodborne. Its also a parallel to Ebreitas' "divine blood" fueling the church, the Dragon's "divine essence" pollutes the Fountainhead waters. The same parasites the Kos worshippers in the Hamlet farm are also found in the area with the carp. The same immortal centipedes (Vermin in Bloodborne) are in both games, reanimating corpses and granting immortality.

Theres more too, too many coincidences. Except the Divine Dragon's "corruption" is just limited to the local river, whereas all of Yharnam drank of Ebreitas.

  5. I wouldn't have expected to fall in love with Owl as much as I did, but goddamn he is just an unapologetic bastard to the bone and owns it. And the funny thing is, that truly does make him the "Great Shinobi". There's no honor in their work; you complete your task using every possible cheap trick you can muster.

  6. He didn’t go for the true ending? Why?! I feel like he should’ve save scummed to get the other endings live on stream.

Edit: wait I’m confused. He’s considering THAT the end of the game? Or is there another video coming?

  7. Caleb just said he realized something “sad” about the game referring to his idea that the game doesn’t want you to move the LS at all and JUST parry but then proceeds to attempt to dodge Inner Owl’s Sword swings.

Also, I know people like to call this a “rhythm game” and it DOES have an element of that with timing your deflections but it’s really so so so much more.
