  1. Sekiro will turn 5 in two days. I posted this a little bit early because it usually takes YouTube's algorithm two days to understand a video and push it, making it exactly 5 years when it will get pushed. Have a good day!!

  2. God , sekiro to me at least remains untouched it even has great level design which has like a top 5 souls area fountain head palace a great story with all equally great endings the only thing I have a gripe with is wolf as a character he just has no motivation (vergil!) And no real reason to do much things

  3. Great stuff m8. I had a rough start with Sekiro when it first came out (it was just too fuckin hard for me to be honest), but the more I've played through it over the years, the more I've come to appreciate it, and you're right, it's definitely Fromsoft's purest game.

  4. Dude I beat this game 2 days ago because of a deal I had with my friend that he’d play lies of p if I beat it and it was so much fun, every minute of it was amazing

  5. There's a famous hbomberguy video where he argues that Bloodborne finally gets people to play the way they should have been playing all along. But I think in hindsight, the messages weren't clear enough: people still get their healing from vials rather than rally, people still try to get behind their opponent, people still spam actions and take counter damage, people still proudly state that they never parry. In some ways Sekiro seems like From taking one more shot at saying "seriously, guys, just stand there and fight."

  6. I think your analysis is a bit off base. For example, around 19:00 when you talk about long combos in Sekiro vs ER. The same point about the boss defeating themselves through aggression applies to ER. The difference here is that you seem to be stuck in the Dark Souls turn based combat mindset. A perfect example is Malenia. I can always tell if someone misunderstands ER combat if they argue that Malenia P2 is more difficult due to increased aggression. When you become accustomed to ER combat P2 Malenia is MUCH easier BECAUSE she is so much more aggressive meaning you have more openings. This is, imo, the most important influence Sekiro had on ER and something that would have reinforced your point regarding Sekiro being somewhat of a testing ground for ER.

  7. You mentioned the Sekiro has no replayability argument and I have to strongly recommend you check out a video from LupineOs titled 'Sekiro is combat freedom' which addresses this very point. Such a good video!
