As a Swede, I am very sad that my country is joining the nuclear alliance of Nato. There is absolutely no reason for us to do so. The entire process has been rushed, thoughtless and undemocratic.
Maybe we should put more money into nuclear power so we don't have to have this huge reliance on other countries energy supply. that said, i'm glad that we might be a member soon, glad to hear of canadians, had a great friend there, died approx 2 years ago. nicoblue, canadians and swedes are = 🙂
Finland and sweden have been long time allmost in nato, building defence ready to for nato alliance, nato compatible. This non allied policy was coulisse policy from cold war era, when nordic contryes was in pressure between east and west, as a democratic western contry, but not want to make russian bear agry for being too much, too strongly allied whith other western contryes. But thanks to Putins insane agressions, Finland and Sweden did start prosess. Turkey have some probles whith this nato prosess..
NATO consists to a large degree of Sweden's close and old friends, that we are proud to join ranks with. But also of some rogue nations blackmailing us during the membership process. The thing is, once we are full members we will show solidarity and help protecting them too.

As a Canadian, I'm very proud to have Sweden and Finland as NATO allies. Both have strong democracies, we all care about our countries and the world as a whole.

Ferocious, Fearless, Fear Mongering, does not anyone the right to take, what was not theirs to own or take to begin with. Easier on Islands. More of a unified togetherness.

Two facts you must keep in mind. 1. USA is the biggest producer & consumer of energy in the world. 2. The prize per barrel they need for their domestic production to break even is 70 USD.
These two facts bring us to the question: what would happen to the US oil & gas production if the war in Ukraine did not happen?
A: It would have to compete with Russian Energy, and being far more expensive, they would bust & start to import & Europe would buy all its energy from Russia.
If the US economy goes bust, the western world would be left defenseless. This is what this is all about. Saving the western economy, by sending the bill to YOU & ME.
It is now time, like never before, to go to the streets and protest, before the crazy militarists in NATO/North Atlantic Council/Center of Strategic International Studies & the rest of them, blows us all off the surface off this planet.
