You missed a chest 20:57. Right about the the time my daughter was like Kage is missing a lot of loot. You said, "I know I am missing loot." 😂🤣 Pretty much had the time down to the second.

Hi Kage, I'm new to your channel and have been watching a few of your videos. Salt 2 has really peaked my interested and hope you continue to do more!
I have watched a few other people to, I will say no spoilers.
Firstly, the most annoying thing for me is not just missing loot but major loot. Slow the looting down, double look. You missed a chest at 20:57 like another view said, and missed so much more minor stuff. There's a lot of gems on the floor by ruins and chests, small but colourful! Specailly watch out for these! But yeah, slow your roll on looting please!
Secondly, you MUST semi read the books. Not just pause and let the viewer read, some books have lures yes, some book will point you to treasure! One book I seen was about a fisherman "went out fishing today to catch my daily dinner, I seen a shiny thing in the water behind my shack, I drawn my line in and nearly catch a key!", the other YouTube I was watching, went outback, fished and catch a key on the first try, no bait!
You need to read to find these hidden dialogs!
To answer a few of your questions:
"Sick of seeing the same loot"
The loot and enemies upgrade on World tiers, on every 10 levels found in the (skill tab (I think)), You will get better loot the more you progress in the game.
Selling items, only sell junk and equipment you don't need, everything else will be used in a recipe that you could unlock soon! Don't sell them pretty gems!
Equipment, you need to add equipment to your character to make combat easier, each equipment will have a set of stats, BUT! more importantly, some stats will upgrade your defense or damage. Some items upgrade with dexterity, pure strength will also increase melee damage.
Futher more, each equipment that has a talent skill has a chance to give a better perk. These like any rpg game need to be re rolled by making the same item again and again. There is some interesting perks like, increase damage with certain weapons, or increase mining damage. These are coloured and rarer than the common grey ones.
You can do certain armour builds to increase and save time on certain tasks, not only killing btw.
Quests, from what I understand, you don't need to return to the same quest island to complete a quest, you just need to return to the same model type, Lone cartographer for example. Its return to THE lone cartographer, so any NPC with the same name. Or the mail box.
Also NPC trading does terrible deals. The only exceptions are foods and health potions.
Back to quests, there a quest board on every seaport. Consider taking these. You have to give items but they pay, much much much more than regular ncp sales. One quest was for 7 copper ingots for 3 silver and 1 blue chest!!!! Doing these means you'll get the next ship upgrade and mail boxes faster! Then you can splash the cash more easily!
Also, when your hungry, consider eating than using health potions if you need food. Foods also heal you as well as give you food.
Sleeping also heals you back to half health but you need food afterwards.
For the deer vs boar, deer gives raw hide, boars give THICK hide. Both are used in difference recipes.
Also your problem with white mushrooms, you need to visit islands with skeletons or maps that say ruins or caves. Grave yards do looks like grave yards. They are mostly on skeletons islands and another island you have not discovered yet.
Island resources will respawn after a while like enemies, loot as far as I'm aware does not.
Mining, you need to mine more! Boring right now yes, but later you can mine better ores, your next tier is level 10, then 20, 30, 40. Of what I'm aware, no spoilers won't say the ores!
Fishing, like all games, you can fish, better the lures, better the chance of rarer items. You can also fish from the boat! You got to listen out for the sound, but you can do it when the ship is sailing! Extra copper and food source whilst passing the time!!!
edit, you can also fish up rarer items, non food items to! Example above of keys! But other stuff to!
On another topic, instead of cutting the video, I would love to see a 3-5x speed, this game is a loot hoarding games. Would love to see some of your looting! Give it a try or poll it on YouTube? You could have a cut to "time" displayed in the corner of the screen for people who doesn't want to view it? Would make your videos longer! 🙂

The game has potato hitboxes, there is clearly nothing above their torso and everyone aiming for headshots like this is some pvp game is going to be sorely mistaken. But considering the game this is based off of its a huge improvement. Still wouldn't expect the dev to do much to improve the game like some other larger projects out there.
Loved the first game, can't wait to play the sequel.

Kage, to Mark an Island, use the button on the Right Side of the Map that looks like an Island.
