Sean Payton is neutering his Quarterback Russell Wilson, and the Broncos offense is an absolute tire fire. After a decent beginning to their season, Payton has slapped training wheels on the offense and has not let Wilson truly play the position. In the last two weeks, his numbers have free-fallen, and now the Broncos are a putrid 1 and 5. What is happening? Who is to blame? And how are both Payton and Wilson screwing up? This week’s episode uses the coaches all 22 to analyze the Denver Broncos Quarterback Russell Wilson and why he’s being neutered by his head coach Sean Payton.

  1. I can't figure out why they drafted Marvin Mims with their first pick, who went on to having top tier YPRR metrics across 2 weeks, and then decided to never friggin use him again. It's absolute madness.

  2. That first and ten play from the 43 can't be blamed on anyone but Wilson. The comeback is there all day against Cover 3. Instead Wilson throws it inside where the hook/curl defender is. Wilson can't make a high school level read and throw. That is why the coach has to change the offense.

  3. Coaches don’t have the flexibility to create an offense around the talent or lack there if they have. Rarely does a coach walk into a team and have what they want already there. Denver has to cut Russel and take the toss and try out late round or non proven free agents. Denver won’t be in the play offs for the next 5-10 years easy.

  4. Sean Payton is not and was never a great head coach. He lucked up with Brees and great offensive talent. Instead of playing to Russ' strength, he wants Russ to mold himself to Payton 's system. Payton has always been overrated.

  5. I think two things are very possible, perhaps likely:

Russ is clearly in decline, and can’t scramble and be elusive like he used to be.

Payton is stuck in 2009 with his offensive schemes.

  6. If the coach doesn’t run an offense that allows the QB to do what he does best then that’s poor coaching. But it’s pretty clear in Denver, new ownership and new coach neither of whom selected Russ. Still, it’s a shame.

  7. Sad that Seattle can't move on from RW3. A year and a half and they still can't stop talking about their Ex.

Sad that 12s and Grandpa Pete and LOB continue to blame RW3 for all their failures. Tell the truth Monday? It's all RW3s fault. Never Pete. Never LOB. Sound like whiny children, not gritty dawgs.

Obvious Payton doesn't want RW3. He has to first convince Walmart to eat the money. He's doing that with a scheme rigged to make RW3 look bad. And he can't cut RW3 until June 1 2024, so 2023 works to a) torpedo RW3 and b) set up high draft pick. But RW3 is gone after 2024.

And RW3? Still more in love with his Brand than the W. But some impatient and desperate owner will sign him after Walmart cuts him. NFC East my guess.
