  1. Heyo, author here. I'm honestly shocked at how great the audio design was for this one! I don't think there's another narrator/sound designer who could have portrayed it so accurately, and amazing voice acting work from TJ, as always!

[Nearly] all of my stories take place in one connected universe – or, multiverse, however you see it. Anyone who listened to "The Place Beyond the Blizzard" from a few months back might have noticed the mentioning of a "Storm" in this story. Though there isn't as much focus on it here as there is in the Blizzard story, it's there for a reason…

  2. I really enjoyed the story. & I also really like the music you did for the ‘outro’(?). Which even I (partially deaf at times with my tinnitus level (s)) can appreciate!!♥️✌️

  3. I don't even know how I stumbled across your channel. I didnt even know LISTENING to creepy pastas was a thing. I tried a few other channels, but quickly dropped them. Ive been hooked on your work for like a month straight, every day now. Your production and audio quality are top notch! Great f***ing job!

  4. Is it at all possible to say the name of the story before the story begins? I listen to your stories when I'm working and I have my earbuds in I don't have access to my phone so I never know which story im listening. I enjoy it nonetheless but I would like to know a little bit of something before hearing the story itself. Especially since I'm listening to 3 or 4 stories at one time in one "sitting." That would be very much appreciated.

  5. The programmed that's making us machine's 3/20/2024 just saw this one yesterday but didn't show that I did so I enjoyed it a second time. Great story. Great story teller thanks Dark Somnium

  6. Hey Ronnie. If I can make a little suggestion; I often search your channel for stories of a certain runtime, like an extra long one for long evenings at work, or a story around 30 mins for when I go on a run, etc (I don't like to interrupt stories once I've started listening, it breaks the immersion). Would it be an idea to group your vids into a few playlists with stories under, say, 30 mins, under 1 hour, and over 1 hour long, for example? It would be a lot easier to find stories that fit the time frame people have to listen to the full thing. Just a thought. Love your work, I haven't been able to listen to any other narrator for years bc you are too good!

(edit; I know you already have some short stories grouped together in a playlist. I was just thinking it might be helpful to have some more groupings by story length)

  7. I know that Spirit Voices and Dusklight Radio often narrate with Somnium, is there anyone else who I hear in these recordings? Also, is there a place on any of the channels where they actually talk about themselves in a podcast/Q and A sort of way? I would be curious to know more about the people behind the amazing work.

On a side note… after hours and hours and HOURS of listening to Somnium's stories (being my favorite of all the popular narrators), his voice is strangely comforting, as I feel like I've been through so many terrifying midnights with him, kind of being a calming voice through some creepy stuff… I guess I kinda separated the fact that he is the one delivering the story from his speech.

  8. This story was narrated so well that I'm going to go take a look at how all of these Shodan style dialogue was written.
I'm a big fan of how you do your.. special effects I would call them, because it's not just audio effects. How you never announce they are coming and thus I listen in complete amazement when they arrive. Listening to you always provides confidence that there will be no screamers and ear piercing audio levels mismatches. I don't need to constantly go up and down in volume.
But I am always starteled nevertheless. It's crazy how you manage to scare listeners not by havjng screams or sharp noises (although all of the above are present as a flair), but by the novelty of the sounds. Like here, for example. Hearing the static for the first time made me hyperaware and adrenaline-rushed, because it was such an alien, unknown and as such scary sound.
    Incredible work, glad you exist!
