SCP: SECRET FILES – Paranormal Cases of Reality Bending Creatures and Mannequins

Can we secure, contain, and protect my interest in SCPs? Let’s find out.

Hey fellas, hope you’re doing well! I think I’ve done this before but today I’m revisiting the SCP universe in hopes of discovering what it is truly about. I’m starting to think that it’s essentially a cinematic universe that anyone can contribute to and I’m afraid that I might be right about that. In any case, I hope you enjoy this reality-bending journey through your typical and generic abandoned laboratory. As always, thanks for watching! Take care of yourselves and stay safe! (:

Game Description:

Description
What if we told you that there is another side to this world? That the established order of our existence is under constant threat from an unknowable number of horrifying abominations. Most of humanity has never encountered these anomalies – a creature that kills anyone who sees its face, a cult capable of causing worldwide disasters, everyday objects that take on otherworldly powers, and other monstrosities beyond our comprehension. Standing between them and us mere mortals lies humanity’s last line of defense – a mysterious global organization committed to “secure, contain, and protect”. Meet the SCP Foundation.

Your Roles

Rookie researcher Carl, a new employee at the SCP Foundation, is assigned to help organize some of the Foundation’s top-secret files. However, something inexplicable happens while he is browsing the archives. Carl’s perception of the world gradually changes, and even his psyche becomes seriously affected. Can you retain your grasp on sanity after experiencing these anomalies?

The world of the SCP Foundation covers a wide variety of ideas, encompassing people and creatures, objects and phenomena, abstract concepts, and even supreme beings such as SCP-3999. Likewise, these stories examine a wide range of themes, including horror, science fiction, comedy, mythology, and more. We have designed our game to be an SCP-fan’s dream experience, as well as the perfect primer for those unfamiliar with the weird and wonderful lore of the SCP Foundation.

  1. Basically the SCP franchise is an entirely community-driven collaboration of characters, locations, and entities which coexist within a shared fictional universe. The SCP aspect of the universe "Secure, Contain, Protect" is humanity's archive and database of knowledge covering its deliberate but covert effort to identify, understand, and control the different anomalies which can potentially lead to the end of humanity. Of course because it's community driven, you have a range of "quality" coming from the franchise (professional, amateurish, and jank alike). Some SCPs are very well thought out and rationally plausible. But for others, the creative inexperience of the writer will show and the stories can be very hard to suspend disbelief with since they usually end up being very tropey, and representatives of the foundation behave very much like edgey caricatures of mercenaries, scientists, and administrators. Essentially there's no real "quality assurance" or consistency with media being titled SCP. It's really on the creator choosing to borrow from that community-established setting on how much they want to make something competent and cohesive. Alot of times they turn out to be made for twitch spookfests with very unsophisticated stories.
