Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry.

It is designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world”. Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself.

Every location contains its own theme (story), puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world. Throughout the game you will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, various items and try to comprehend the sights presented to you.

Scorn takes place in an open-ended world with different interconnected regions. Each region is a maze-like structure with various rooms and paths to discover. All the storytelling happens in-game, with no cut-scenes to distract you from the grisly reality of the living, breathing world you’re in. But keep your eyes open – the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels.

Players will experience better immersion being aware of the character’s body and movement. Interaction with the world is realistic – objects are picked up with your hands (instead of just floating in midair), machines and instruments are operated by grabbing the controls, etc.

Your loadout is defined and limited. This plays a big role in keeping the player in an even greater state of awareness throughout the whole game. Players will have to think about when to fight and when to take cover and how their actions affect the world around them. Different play styles will be needed to advance.

  1. Information about H.R Giger: he was Swiss artist best known for his airbrushed images that blended human physiques with machines, an art style known as "biomechanical". Giger later abandoned airbrush for pastels, markers and ink. He was part of the special effects team that won an Academy Award for the visual design of Ridley Scott's 1979 sci-fi horror film Alien. His work is on permanent display at the H.R. Giger Museum in Gruyères, Switzerland. His style has been adapted to many forms of media, including album covers, furniture, and tattoos. . . . and of course this game

  2. Yeah this game looks like a big disappointment. Not at all what I thought it was going to be. It looks slow and boring as hell. I like xbox but it doesn't have shit compared to sony when it comes to exclusives. I thought this was going to be one and a plus for xbox but this looks terrible. It would be one thing if it was marketed as a puzzle game but it wasnt as far as I know and looking at comments and what him and chat is saying, nobody did.

  3. 41:48 Yeaaaahhh… you might not be too happy to hear, but this is probably the pace of the game in general. It’s not a shooter or action at all. A lot if people have already commented on how it’s not enough action and the developers have replied it’s not that kind of game. It’s atmospheric puzzle horror pretty much. It’s all about the visuals and puzzles… and maybe story … maybe. We don’t really know if there is a story. So you might not like this one. I think it’s one that you just have to take it. Even the music is ambient and about the atmosphere.

  4. I've never been a fan of puzzle games, but I do like horror (and story) which is why I'd still play games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. If this game can deliver a good story and be really creepy I might disregard the puzzle heavy gameplay

  5. "Imagine your employer took half your paycheck." I mean in most cases they do (not out of the paycheck but out of the profit you produce), sometimes a lot more than that. That's the whole debate between capitalism and socialism. I mean, in capitalism, if your worker produces $50 of profit per hour, do you pay him $50 per hour? No, you pay him whatever it would cost to hire someone else to do the same job and you keep the difference. Not saying that's fair, but that's capitalism.
