The one thing that is really misinformative is that you say crocodiles are found in river systems all over the world. That is very inaccurate. Finding a crocodile beyond 27° north latitude is very rare, and their habitat doesn't go beyond 30° south latitude anywhere in the world except for Africa and Australia.
Smaller crocodilian species such as alligators and caimans are a different matter, but are much less with threat to humans.

The so called river monster is a white sturgeon. Even from this angle you can see the barbells on it's mouth. Plus the scales on its back are also a dead giveaway. Next time, consult with a professional angler or any other suitable fisherman.
