Scientists get first-ever sound recording of dust devils on Mars

In this video: The video shows the original images taken of the direct dust devil encounter by the the rover’s Navigation Camera (Navcam) and the images that have been processed to show the quantity of dust. The colour scale in the processed images ranges from lowest dust content (blue) to highest dust content (yellow). The atmospheric pressure was recorded by the Mars Environmental Dynamics Analyzer instrument. The sound was recorded by the SuperCam microphone. The dust devil encounter occurred on the 27th September 2021. The sound has been prepared for public release by R. Lapeyre (CNES).
