The cameras used to film the tests were specially designed to withstand the explosions. They were encased in steel and lead and positioned on towers secured in concrete. 48 cameras were set up at distances that ranged between 838 to 3,200 meters (2,750 to 10,500 feet) away from ground zero – the site of the explosion. For the one about the camera, they used lenses for them, adjusting them to the highest possible quality they could get of the targets and the latest cameras processors of that era. Filming them at a safe distance.
The atomic bomb was massive, but it's explosion only covered 8,000 feet to 1 mile compared against what we have to day, that's small af.
The one that looks at the group of people then at the explosion was adjusted to see the explosion clearly, so something up close, in this case the people watching, would be blurry.
