  1. I think the best character to attach them to is a Thunder Hammer+Storm Shield Jump Captain. It’s a unit that WANTS to be in melee, has some added durability and a strong weapon. So the defense buffs really help out.

  2. I would love if they happened to be 40 PPM, but seeing as they're essentially baby Custodes, I'll take 45

Models look great, gonna try just painting normal heads gold in an attempt to not have to use the stormcast heads lmao

Overall, very excited about this unit

  3. You know, to those who say the new sanguinary guard look like Stormcast… if anything the old ones look more like old Stormcast models with worse proportions, with their more pronounced spiky helmets along with the wings.

  4. let´s say they will be at 150points per 3. They are a bit to weak in my Opinion. I would give atleast 1 Inferno Pistol per 3 models so could have 2 in a 6 man group. The BOLTGUN (should be named Boltpistol) for me if hitting on 3s it should have like S5 with -1AP. Other Idea 1A BS2 S5 AP-1 D1.
    Melee :
The Blades are Good as they are BUT the Spears are whatever. Spears should be something similar to Custodes Axes. like 2-3 Attacks WS 3, S7, AP-1, Dmg 3 with Lance.

  5. Something kinda worth considering when getting these guys: their kit can basically also be built, with only minor convertion, and painted as 3 blood angels jump pack captains, or 3 blood angel captains on foot if you have spare backpacks and don't mind the poses. That makes them a very versatile kit

  6. I might be entirely alone in this, but.. I actually prefer the SG without wings, if only for personal bias; see, my favorite unit Editions past was the Honour Guard, those gold-plated fly boys I kitted out and had with my HQs, and when those went out of favor or altogether, the new (annoying to assemble) SG just didn't fill that void for me.
I totally get the feelings on the wings being clipped, or the "downgrade" in embellishments fans feel, but for me? I come from older times when the models weren't blinged out, so I guess I'm just more comfortable?
Either way, I respect the stances, and respect the Primarch level of effort you always give Auspex, I come here for news and info because it's always so swift and reliable! Thank you! 🙂

  7. These seem pretty terrifying – especially on the terrain-heavy pariah boards. Synergies with the chapter-specific detachment rules too! They just don't seem to have any downsides – at least Deathwing Knights are slow and only 1OC! Gonna be very points-dependent, though.
