You can go to that area through the boss room, the hole at where you jumped down in the last video will have elevator if you have activated all the gears from the statues + reached this part of the quest.
I'm so glad that you found this. It should be a kill volume but someone must have missed it and made it collide with the player. I am getting someone to fix it right now lmao! so sorry!
