Sanctions against Russia failed to achieve goals, claims Moscow's UK ambassador

Sanctions imposed against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine have failed to achieve any of their aims, the country’s ambassador to the UK has told Sky News.

Andrei Kelin says “business is pure business” as a Sky News investigation revealed glaring loopholes in the restrictions regime, which has allowed British companies – legally – to help keep Russian gas flowing and generate huge revenues for the Kremlin’s war machine.

  1. Why is Russia selling Gas to Europe, this reporter needs to ask the questions to EU leaders. EU is desperate for energy, European countries can stop buying it, if they wanted to, but they can't.
The question is Absurdity at its best.
    It's laughable!!!!

  2. Like Monty Python's Black Knight, Russia never tires of telling us that the sanctions have little effect (or are worse for those who impose them). If that's right, surely the ambassador should ask for more?

  3. Russia is allways inocent😂😂 attacking chech , Georgia and ukraine 2 times… what a clown. Russia allways wages war trying to take more territory. This should absolutly not happen in the 2000

  4. This interview is not worth watching. Not sure why Sky News take interview with enemies. Are they so low in revenue, should the law allow them to do such thing?. Is like spreading Putin's propaganda with the help of Sky News.

  5. My god western interviewers are embarrassing. Instead of asking smart well-structured questions they bluntly try to push a narrative to the very people who are trained to poke holes or work around loaded questions like these. This kind of aggressive interviewing only works in morning talk shows.

  6. Sanctions are working, sanctions don’t work straight away it always takes a good few years to start working
I’m actually surprised it’s starting to show so soon, I thought it would take at lest 5 years
