Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Pixel 9 Pro XL | Camera, Gaming & Beyond!

Comparing Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone vs Google’s Pixel 9 Pro XL, to see which boasts the best camera tech, gaming performance, battery life & beyond. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may be fresh, but that Pixel 9 Pro XL is still my favourite in many ways. Here’s why.

First up, if you already own the S24 from last year, you’ve no reason to upgrade to Sammy’s latest mega-phone. That camera hardware is slightly improved for 2025 with a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. However, besides that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra sports the same optics and the Pixel 9 Pro XL is better for low light and family/pet photography.

As far as physical bits are concerned, this Galaxy smartphone’s design has been slightly refined and now boasts Snapdragon 8 Elite smarts. Combined with a massive vapor chamber, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is a capable gaming phone for Wuthering Waves etc. In fact, it’s superior to the Pixel 9 Pro XL for any gamers.

As for battery life, it’s neck and neck here. The Samsung S25 Ultra offers a similar all-day performance vs the Pixel 9 Pro XL, especially for video playback. Gaming, it’s the Pixel’s win – but not by much. And charging speeds are the same.

So that’s it so far, let us know your thoughts below – which is the best flagship for 2025 out of this pair? A full in-depth review of the regular Samsung S25 Ultra is incoming!

  1. So the S25 Ultra might not be much of an upgrade vs the S24 Ultra, but how does it compare with another big git, the Pixel 9 Pro XL? DRUNK UNCLE CORRECTION: Of course, the Ultra model of S25 starts at 256GB storage. Sos!

  2. Everything looks correct on my Samsung s22 ultra but in Google pixel either it is too small or too large I'm unable to get a perfect aspect ratio like how it looks on my Samsung . The DPI scaling on Samsung is the best it makes good use of full screen space

  3. Noise in photos been thing since S20 Ultra, that's been deal breaker for me each year, it's wierd no one usually mentions that. Pictures look worse than 200€ phones nowdays. Also that you can't get good pictures if object moves abit. Google, iPhone and Sony has much less noise, Sony is actually best in that regard. Nice videos btw, subbed.

  5. Think it's important that you should definitely mention that face unlock on both phones rely on just the front camera, they are very unsecure unlike iPhones which are full on 3d secure face id unlock

  6. Good…

Removing the blue tooth functionality from the the lovely 'S pen' is one of the big mistake Samsung ever made…

The artistically lovely 'S pen' and its functionality separates Samsung from other Manufactures…

    Samsung… Please correct this mistake…

  7. i really wish google would give better discounts. been wanting to go back to pixels but only samsung would give me the really good discounts. the price difference is so substantial that it would cost me almost twice as much to get a pixel than if get another samsung.
