Leaving Santa Barbara to sail to Santa Cruz Island. Weβve never been to Santa Cruz Island so itβs a first first for us and Rediviva. Our buddy Jay picked Cueva Valdez which did not disappoint!
p.s. I try and reply to as many comments as I can but we are still so so busy so please do not take it personally π

Your ratlines are a big hit with everybody, myself included. Your vlog technique just keeps getting better and better, hard as that is to imagine.
Wow,natures best .

Yup. One for the books. The adventuring begins!Woohoo!
I think those dolphins were welcoming you home.
Your transition to sailing channel is going very well. Lovely to see you both having fun.
Wild just wild loved every minute π»π»π»π»ππ€π€
Spectacular Indeed! Thank you for sharing all this!
stunning scenery and wild life thanks for showing from a wet and cold uk. england
Think itβs a pod of Dolphins
Cool coast line. Neat caves. Thanks for the tour.π
looking at all the small smooth rocks on the beach where you landed. You need to start a collection of one rock everyplace you anchor. Will make a great collection for the future
WILD
that was such a great adventure video !
The thing that I always find striking is how stable Rediviva seems to be. You obviously found a balance between the weight and distribution of your ballast that has proven exactly right. I am totally fascinated by Rediviva, I have to say. I used to own a 45ft all-wood trimaran back in the day, sailing her mostly on Australia's Eastern Seaboard and out into the Pacific as far as Fiji. She had no ballast at all, of course, although all the water and fuel tanks etc were in the outrigger hulls and whether they were full or not seemed to make very little observable difference to the boat's behaviour. PS – Why "Rediviva", incidentally? Aren't they bees, or something?
So very very proud of you guys. You guys look awesome. Thanks for letting me be a tiny part of what you two have accomplished…sail me mi amigos.
I'm so glad that such a place is not been 'civilized' but left as is!
You have it made in the shade
What planet are you on? Spectacular!
When you get a chance, grab yourselves a polarising filter for your camera. Preferably a circular polariser. It would make those shots of the Dolphins so much clearer by removing the reflected sunlight.
Excellent episode!!
It was in the summer of 1952 that I first visited Santa Cruz Island aboard the 35' motor yacht, Big Teez. In the tender, Little Teez, we rowed ashore at Prisoners Harbor, and hiked over to Pelican Bay, and Tinkers Harbor. I remember it as a lonely place in those days. You two are really bringing back memories.
Very cool, watched many months (years) of buiding. I knew you would get to cruiseing some day, now you are there. I can tell you guys are enjoying it so much, you deserve it. Stay safe. Good luck.
Super cool!
The "then and now" pics were of Pulitzer proportions. Beautifully done. Bravo!
My wife and I love your channel. This is one of your best videos yet. Ruth – the narration is beautiful. Great job both of you!
I found I was unsubscribed so I quickly re-subscribed.
PS: Of all the sailing channels you have the best cinematography, all these takes outmatch each other, what a show.
I've been following this channel for a while. It looks like you've done a very robust and comfortable/easy to sail boat. But now that you've started your sailing life and gained some experience of your boat, I'd be interested know if you've started to notice anything that you'd like different or improved with it? Any future plans?
Santa Cruz Island is my favorite of the Channel Island. So many cool anchorages and caves to explore. Painted Cave is incredible so is Cuervo Valdez. Brings back so many great memories. I hope you get to check out Pelican Bay and the hike from there to Prisoners. You can spend weeks exploring the island…ENJOY!
