I have to wonder why Choze of all people got to use those energy balls (if you know, you know). I can understand the other characters that use them but why Choze of all people?
===
Suiryu may be S-Class in ability (proven by being able to defeat Choze, a Demon-level Monster, single-handedly with relative ease) but that doesn't mean he can fight a Dragon like Gouketsu or Bakuzan. Even many of the higher-ranking S-Class heroes struggle with Dragons (unless you're Tatsumaki).
===
The Three Crows must be a Demon-level threat collectively rather than individually if Sneck, Lightning Max and a weakened Suiryu can beat them so easily. Demons are supposed be equal to 10 A-Class Heroes or one lower-end S-Class Hero (though the S-Class' official ranks are all over the place due to popularity playing a role in the ranks rather than just ability; only Puri-Puri, Tatsumaki, Blast and maybe Bang are properly ranked).
===
New Suiryu Trivia:
-In ONE's first storyboard, Suiryu was Lin Lin's brother and used Drunken Fist (酩酊拳) instead of Void Fist (冥躰拳). During the finale of the tournament, he gets drunk, goes all out against Saitama, but loses. Afterwards, Lin Lin comforts him, telling him to work harder in the future. This setting was scrapped because a drunkard vs Gouketsu was deemed too comical and they wanted to show despair. Murata didn’t say who changed the setting.
–Note: The kanji for “void” and “drunken” are homonyms in Japanese, both are pronounced “meitei”.
===
Choze Trivia:
-Threat Level: Demon
-His name Choze is the Japanese way of pronouncing the word "choose".
-Murata stated that the energy balls Choze uses are the same as Vaccine Man from Episode 1.
-During a stream when describing what the characters look like in the real world, Yusuke Murata stated that Choze looks Russian.
===
Bakuzan
-Threat Level: Dragon
-Bakuzan is the only enemy that Saitama defeats in human form and kills in monster form.
===
The Three Crows Trivia:
-Threat Level: Demon
-The Three Crows are a reference to a number of mythological creatures:
–Their design is based on the Yatagarasu (八咫烏, eight-span crow), a three-legged crow present in many mythologies of East Asia.
–Their name might be a reference to the Japanese expression 三羽烏 , which refers literally to the three crows as a symbol of doom, and figuratively to a triumvirate, a trio of people who excel at their job.
===
Gouketsu Trivia:
-Threat Level: Dragon
-Gouketsu's last fight was skipped because ONE specifically told Murata so.
-The term Gouketsu (豪傑) refers to a man who is larger than life.
-Gouketsu was originally designed without the black marking on his forehead and chin. His teeth were larger and sharper, while the redrawn version looks more human.
–"I guess the reason why Frieza's final form looked strong despite its simplicity was that in contrast to the forms to that point, it looked (intelligent/calculating/rational). Being able to feel the intelligence is scarier (than not)." – Yusuke Murata
-Gouketsu could very well be a homage to Street Fighter. He seems to have a combination of the names Gouken and Goutetsu of the Street Fighter series, and holds a physical resemblance to many of the characters, wearing a Gi outfit with torn sleeves.
===
Watchdog Man Trivia:
-S-Class Rank 12 Hero
-Hero Rating Unknown
-Watchdog Man is ranked 18th in the character popularity poll.
-The origin of Watchdog Man's hero name comes from Watchdog Man wearing a dog costume and his physical abilities and fighting style of a wild dog.
-His activities are strictly limited to Q-City and there seems to be hidden reasons behind it.
-Watchdog Man and the pedestal he sits on are likely references to Hachikō, a Japanese Akita dog remembered for his incredible loyalty, and the famous statue of him in Shibuya, Tokyo.
-Watchdog Man’s monument is near a train station and citizens come to clean the blood of monsters off of the plaza and statue every day. The location of the monument is another reference to Hachikō, as the famous dog would wait for his deceased owner at a train station.
===
Important Manga-Anime Differences:
-Gyoro Gyoro is shown more during Gouketsu's flashback.
-Metal Knight speaking with Gyoro Gyoro is moved to this episode.
-Garou vs. Watchdog Man is moved to this episode.
-Gouketsu's scuffle with Bakuzan is shortened.
-Suiryu doesn't snap monster Bakuzan's toe.
-Saitama saves both Sneck and Max from Bakuzan when he attempts to stomp on the two unconscious heroes. In the manga, however, Bakuzan only targets Sneck, so Saitama intervenes solely to save him, leaving Max untouched.
He started begging for heroes real quick once he got in trouble xD
7:24 Suiryu was goated till here
Then he got dirty too much that is
Okay, I never thought about this before till today, but seeing the actual Metal Knight being revealed only up to the chin and nose just made me think of something… What if Dr Kuseno, the one who "saved" Genos' life is Metal Knight?? I feel like they're building up to the reveal where they'll pan up to show his full face and his classic hairstyle. Just my theory though, I could be waaaaay off. 👀😂
