  1. Sorry to hear about the wave but glad you made it safely. The lagoon at Aitutaki is awesome especially the white sand near one foot island. Excited to see what you find when you explore. I was there a couple times back in the late 90s. The people of the Cook Islands were so welcoming and friendly. I'm glad to hear they appear to still be that way. Enjoy and thanks for sharing.

  2. I just found your channel, liked and subscribed.
I am amazed how many viewers you have, and subs for only some 20 videos. How did you go about doing that?
I would like to give you some feedback, and some tips about Aitutaki, I have been there 3 times, total of near 3 months total.
First, Cook Islands is nicknamed English Polynesia.
    – You are right, there is another friendliness in Cook Islands, actually, the Aitutakians are probably the most friendly people I have ever met.
    – I am not sure how long you are staying, but rent a scooter. If you are staying for a while you can probably negotiate down the price. Dont be afraid to ask.
    – After aquireing the scooter, go to the police station, it is located half way up the steep hill in the village where you landed. Get a motorcycle license. They will perhaps ask you where you rented it and if you had a crash on the way. If you tell them no they will tell you that is good and that you have passed the driving test. You pay, if I remember NZD3 or 5 for the drivers license and your good to go explore the island.
    – A great place to eat is a built in food truck right in the village you were, cant remember the name but their burgers and fries are pretty good.
    – In any store you can buy internet vouchers, what you do is simply go on wifis that is located a bit here and there, login to the wife, they will ask for your voucher codes and on the internet you go. Note that it is quite expensive internet in Cook Islands. $10 New Zeeland for 2.5 Gb.
Staying a longer time, it might be value into getting a prepaid sim card instead.
    – Do not miss out on exploring the lagoon on the other side of the island, there are some great little motus, small islands in the lagoon. One Foot Island and Heaven sand bar is a must for sure. There are also some islands where the Brittish and American copy cat shows Shipwrecked and Survivor Cook Islands were filmed.
    – Should you have trouble still getting your gennie fixed, let me know and I may be able to get you someone to help you, or lead you in a direction to someone who may know someone.
    – As you may have already noticed, people are very religious on Aitutaki, so many places are closed on Sundays. Well, there is a store on the other side of the island owned by 7 day adventists, which means they are closed on Saturdays, but open on Sundays. Great work around if you happen to need something on a Sunday. Furthermore, I found their prices a bit lower.
    – If you need a beach but dont rent a place there is a nice area to stay on the beach and taking a swim by the rugby/football/cricket field not very far from you, just go north from the village your in and follow the coast. I reckon somewhere less than a kilometer.
    – Should you want t see the beautiful lagoon at the same time then go all the way up to the airport, hang right and follow the road basically till it ends. There is a small "resort" called Aitutaki Village. They have a small restuarant/bar that is open to the public. As long as you order some milkshakes or maybe eat a meal there, they are ok with you using their loungers and so on. Sometimes they have island night, it is buffet and locals drumming and dancing. Well worth it and not very costly. Near Aitutaki Village is where the little lagoon cruises goes from. It is not very expensive, and even if you are on a budget, I can tell you, that when you done it, you will tell yourself how much you would have regretted not doing it.
    – You mentioned, nobody care how long you stay…. Eeeh, not really true. If you stay more than 30 days, make sure to get a visa extension, it is not difficult and not expensive. Also, remember that they have a "departure fee".
    – Final, dont be in a hurry, there are some very cool islands in the northern group well worth visiting.
    1. Palmeston Island, all inhabitants are directly related to a English sailor who settled there with his 3 Polynesian wifes in the 1800s…. Beautiful Island and the only way to get there is the way you travel.
    2. Manihiki, Beautiful island that makes great black pearls, a real atoll kind of place.
    3. Rakahanga atoll
    4. Puka Puka
    5. Suwarrow, an Island where Tom Neale lived alone for 6 years.

Oh, and when you finally leave, dont know if you are visiting Niue or Tokelau on the way to Tonga but there is a hidden reef on the way called Beverage Reef, watch out for it as you cant see it and if you plan your route without carefulness you may land on it. Anyway, there are passages to the inside and it is a beautiful place to park for the day, or a few days if you need a rest, or just a turquose blue lagoon.
    Cheers

  3. You’re an inspiration my guy. Be sure to use some good skincare routine. That salt and heat can absolutely wreck it. I have never used lotions or skin care routine until I began spending a lot of time on a boat

  7. Amazing Garrett!
Would you consider doing sort of a "what I eat in a day" type of video? Really curioos as to how you fuel up as you are doing really physically demanding stuff.
