  1. My 5900X is One Binned CCX and one regular.. I can tell by just looking in Hardware Info.. Oh and there will be serval BIOS and Driver updates watch, I am an AMD guy so I know just watch. The best part 7800X3D is the one we have to wait for.. It will be faster than the rest in gaming…

  2. AMD will come out with a fix in Ryzen Master or something like that for the Idle CCX, Thats what should be handling Background.. I knew I wasn't going to like either one of those 2 parts. If it was to work the way Intel's P and E cores it would be worth it. Like if there was no penalty for going across CCX's to get to the Vcache and every app knew just what thread to use, that 7950X3D would be worth every penny if it just worked.. But Like I said if all you care about is 4K gaming just by the regular 7000 CPU's..

  3. I feel like every program would want as much of its resources in cashe as possible so it can access those resources as quickly as possible. It seems a bit strange to say that a program that doesnt utilize all of the resources available is poorly optimized. If you used that logic with CPU cores you would say that a program that used all 16 cores of 7950X is poorly optimized.

  4. Unlimited power !!! Brad puts it best, do you really want to mess around with which die is doing what?? Do I have to benchmark my games to make sure my x3d is working properly? Agreed, seems like a headache.

  5. I'm with Gordan. Overclocking used to be about pumping as much power as the hardware can handle. It's about unhinged extremes and IMO that's cool. Undervolting just doesn't feel as satisfying because chasing efficiency by definition means embracing restraints.

    For my 5950x I do all the curve optimiser tweaks only so that I can increase the PBO limits. Best of both worlds. If it doesn't hit 89c in cinebench there's room for improvements.

  6. People don't use gamebar? WTF? It's got so many uses and it's easily the fastest and easiest way to have an audio mixer in windows, even outside of gaming. Also, people like Linus loves to disable it and other Microsoft things and then they complain that they cannot match make in MS games.

  7. Mr. Audio engineer .. Make certain that everyone's headphones and mics locally are not connected directly through their computer to your mixer. The USB tones from Microsoft Windows are a little annoying…

  8. AMD's 7950X3D is a scam .. half your cores are Disabled when gaming and only one of the CCD's has the 3D V-Cache. So basically anyone who's trying to stream on one PC is screwed!

  9. The 7950 and 7900 didn’t sell, so they had all this silicon sitting around and rushed this product to market. They would have only planned for the 7800X3D which is why they skipped the 7800X. Which also makes sense because they built no core scheduler into the silicon. The CPUs are a scam, their problems can never be fixed and it’s why AMD pushed the 7800X3D back. In fact I would not be surprised if AMD pushed it back even further until the normal CCD silicon sells through.

  10. Why would anyone need more than 8 cores/16 threads for games anyway? I don't understand why it's a issue. Either turn it off (don't use gamebar) or on (use it), it's not rocket science.

  11. The 7950X3D feels like a weird processor to me simply because the people it makes sense for are the overlap between top-end gamer and content creator. I think that Steve Burke is right that the release delay for the 7800X3D is to abuse the market of impatient top-end gamers.

Great livestream guys, very informative and lots of interesting discussions. @Gordon Ung there's something to note at around the 1h10min mark where you mention that the 7950X3D consumes 328W, but it's actually 228W vs the 13900K at 500W. I think the written review also had the same issue. Also, at 54:20 on the screen there's the 7950X3D vs 13900K performance summary but the game title names are cropped out towards the bottom. I'm curious as to what those titles are, is that pic available somewhere? I believe it's not in the review either.

  13. A great Show thanks . @Gordon I would just like to say that there can be some game that does take advantage of more than 8 cores.
    just look back when a game could only use a single core then Dual core then Quad cores now 8 cores so how long before the main stream games use 16 cores LOL

  14. Gordon, I like your Cinebench power charts. One possible improvement: If you let all parts run the same amount of cycles, you can perfectly compare performance (time) and total power consumption (area under each curve) in one chart.

  15. I do understand that trying some things in a controlled environment is difficult and can in some or a lot of cases skew actual results compared to real world.
    If we had two cars that were similar and had similar engines but one engine had one extra thing on it that gave it a little more boost that the other one couldn't have…. Would you disable the item on the car that seemingly has the advantage when you are testing them? No.

    Therefore in this case a fair test would be to run the Intel CPU in the best fashion that you can run it and the ryzen CPU in the best fashion you can.
    You can't use the excuse that people wouldn't do this or people wouldn't do that at home when most tech sites and Tech tubers use the best stuff to test the CPUs with. Which of course most real-world users wouldn't be paying $650 for a motherboard.

    Fair isn't the right word.
    None of the tests are really fair nor do they really emulate real-world use from most people.

    Personally, I don't think I ever got the results that I saw in any of the tests I've ever seen on YouTube after I bought a CPU or GPU. I usually just buy what's within my budget and the brands that I like.

    There's so many different combinations of hardware that it's hard to quantify exactly the kind of performance that you'll get. And then you throw in Windows which fter 6 months of use really just starts to slow things down.
