Russian warship 'destroyed' in Crimean port, says Ukraine

Ukraine has claimed the destruction of a Russian warship in the Black Sea following a missile attack on a Crimean port.

The Ukrainian air force said the Novocherkassk, a Russian landing ship, was struck by cruise missiles at 2.30am on Tuesday. Video footage showed a fireball illuminating the night sky above Feodosia, a port of 69,000 people on Crimea’s southern coast.

Britain has supplied Ukraine with Storm Shadow long-range missiles, which have previously been used to strike Crimean ports. Ukraine has repeatedly used western weapons to target Crimea, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.

  1. What’s happened to the balance in our war reporting? Is it just YouTube? If you just followed events on the news feeds here you would believe Ukraine were winning this conflict. Not losing it as is obvious when you access multiple sources.
