Well, considering how the Zircon has been repeatedly shot down by the "oboslete" Patriot and SAMP/T system, they would not be much a threat to AEGIS ships. Considering they would slow down to less than mach 5, RIM-162 ESSM BLK2 would be more than sufficient.
Haven't we learned that hypersonics can literally be shot down if its target can shoot? Like seriously, Kinzhal has already been shot down by Patriot. What's to say it would be the same for Zircon?

It is a bit weird US still use AIM-120C even NGAD appear, NGAD may be armed with AIM-260 that time. Hope things go well with NGAD programmes.
