Russian forces 'an army in disarray,' says Lord Richard Dannatt

Lord Richard Dannatt, former Chief of the General Staff, told Sky’s Kay Burley that whilst morale across the Ukrainian forces is “at an all-time high,” the opposite can be said for the Russians.

He went on to say that they are “an army in disarray”.

  1. I believe it's a smart move by Russia, No one ever attacks or can take Russia during winter. Their gonna let their enemies freeze this winter and attack again next spring when their troops are replenished. Why can no one else see this. This is their chess logic, those weapons and equipment they brought with them were soviet era junk that needed to go.

  2. We hear a lot about the Russian logistics relying on railways. Presumably destruction of all rail links (stretches of a few miles) from Russia into the Ukraine are being considered as an essential strategy to slow down any counter offensive by Putin. This is practicable in the Northern regions now that Ukrainian forces have reached close to the borders.

Ukraine 🇺🇦 needs more longer range weapons as a deterrent against totalitarian Russian Federation future Aggressions.
NO part of Ukraine belongs to Russia.

  5. Winter is coming I hope this ends soon but knowing that mad man Putin god only knows in heaven what hes going to do next that's the scary thing and all theses experts all there doing is guessing they don't know what's going on in Putin's head

  6. A good general appraisal by Lord Danatt, but I couldn't disagree more about the "pending stalemate" during Winter. This armchair pundit sees a war of movement as soon as wet ground gives way to frozen ground. Both the Russians and Ukrainians know how to wage winter war. This winter I expect to see tracked vehicles all over the place as the Russians reinstate control over their forces and abandon the roads. Send more Javelins!

  7. People like Lord Richard Dannatt don't seem to get it, Russia, cannot escalate it any more than its doing and Putin cant call for mobilization. Mobilization will collapse the entire economy, coz who is gonna be left to mine the labor force. Even if he mobilizes. those troops need logistics and the Russians have proven that they are not good at it. The only option for Putin is to terrorize Ukraine's civilians and damage critical infrastructure.

  8. This is the second body blow to Putin from The Ukrainian Arned Forces.
    To quote Adolf
"Wir müssen nur die Tür eintreten", sagte Hitler, "und das ganze verrottete Gebäude wird zusammenbrechen."
Maybe this time the whole corrupt edifice will collapse, and the Ruzzians might get Glasnost 2 and the Ukrainian people get reparations.

  9. I've always found it ironic how a western country like Britain has always pointed to other countries as authoritarian, and will pound home the idea using the armed forces swearing allegiance to a single strongman as proof. Yet here we are well into the 21st century, with the British armed forces still doing the same thing, swearing allegiance, loyalty, and duty to an individual sovereign. They can say what they want about "constitutional monarchy", but you'd have to be a fool to believe the British Monarch is merely a figurehead in modern day.

  10. Have everyone lost their minds? The Russian army and their leaders are the most decietfull buggers on earth (North Korea and China are close contenders!). The perception of an army on the run will be used to their advantage very soon. Putin undoubtedly has more than one plan in mind.
Don't get me wrong, I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it! UK Pete.

  11. The same people that sent thousands to their slaughter because their old brains (Generals) couldn't use new technology circa ww1. Same thing is happening in Ukraine now. Sending flesh out into holes in the field covered 24/7 by satellites and drones. To be destroyed by heavy weapons. Absoloute madness and the west is fanning the flames of the meatgrinder.

  12. Western lies. Russia won this war months ago. They took the territory they wanted in just a week to secure the borders from threats when Ukraine join NATO, now they are just defending. Ukraine are doing terrible in truth.

Lest we forget…the Russians lost 10million troops in ww2…and didn't give in ..hitler lost against them…Napoleon lost against them…they adapted to the German tiger tank power by adding angular armour..came back and destroyed the German army…please stop bragging as the USA always does…then leaves with its tail between its legs..because it underestimates its enemy's
