  1. Dear Konstantin, the Russian government has discovered another source of income. Recently, many leading managers of large Russian companies have died unexpectedly (suicide by gun, drowning, falling out of a window…). In the future, companies that may have been more privately managed are likely to be managed by the state and (presumably) "milked" until they can no longer be managed (disinvestment strategies). Where this will lead, we all know. The abyss is near… I feel very sorry for the good Russians. But as a German, I am very much in favour of the sanctions against Russia becoming even tougher. There is no other way out. You Russians must free yourselves, end the war, pay reparations and be ashamed of yourselves until the end of your days. As a German, I know that. That is the way of things when you commit such crimes as a whole country. Thank you for your work, which I appreciate very much and will support as long as it will be necessary.

  3. So your friend russell, he is getting paid for his supermarket videos by the kremlin? Because he is definitely not in the second group of people actually believing what he propagandizes on youtube with his 'the sanctions dont affect russia' shit. He is feeding into the disgusting narrative that russia isnt being hurt by sanctions hence russia can continue to kill and occupy. (even though sanctions arent even designed to hurt food supply and prices for regular russians) its fueling something disgusting when making such videos and I did not consider that he may actually get paid by the kremlin for it, I just assumed he was scum that wants views and does not care how he gets them or what the effect of such videos is.

  5. Having listened for a while, I subscribed. I can see that you delve into issues you are not overly familiar with (i.e. you are not a banker nor a statesman to be an expert on a country's budgeting), but I do find gems of insight in your reports. Thank you.

  6. The main issue behind Russia's budget is its capital reserves. At the start of the war Putin had amassed a huge capital reserve but lost access to half of it almost immediately due to sanctions. Russia can run down the rest of this capital until real problems emerge – how is this going?
Once there are no reserves left, the only way Russia can fund its deficit is by issuing bonds. Since they are denied access to capital markets, the only people who can buy these bonds are Russians. Russia is already in a very depressed state and that means there won't be a lot of buyers. This means that the bonds can only be sold very cheaply, in other words, there will be a massive rise in interest rates. This will complete the destruction of the Russian economy. It was the fundamental idea behind the sanctions and is just a matter of time.
So, how is Russia going in terms of drawing down its reserves? My understanding is that the massive increase in gas prices up to July led to a large capital gain for Russia before the pipelines to Germany were cut and gas prices started falling. The "capital" clock only really started ticking for Russia in September.

  7. What is the current estimate on the number of people relocated to Russia from Ukraine? I don't imagine they're contributing much to the Russian economy and in fact Russia is relieving Ukraine of the burden for supporting them so maybe those that want to should be allowed to return to Ukraine…

  8. Now, yet again, the world sees Communism in all its naked horror. Again, the answer to all the conflict and hunger is so simple. Just work together as one human race, then almost all the problems will simply melt away. But no, rather elect or follow leaders who brings us to the Gates of Hell time and time again. If it isn't Allahu Akbar, then its lies and deceit, sprinkled well with corruption.
