The attack on Pskov and other Russian military air bases echoes comments by Hamish last week with reference to the Special Operations Executive acting in N Africa during WW2 as the fledgling SAS. Harass the enemy and destroy lines of communication, infrastructure and planes. It worked then and is every bit as effective now.

That will cause, as long it's only military targets, fatigue… But hitting civilians even by accident will cause a backlash that I do not think will benefit Ukraine, and it also might not benefit Russia either… But my main concern is Ukraine

Wikipedia claims the Russian Air Force has 120 Il-76s. Presumably this number represents Russia's claimed aircraft before the war started. How realistic this number is is anyone's guess. But I think the estimate of 30 is probably closer to the mark than 120.

These drone strikes accomplished very, very little . They didn’t effect the battles in Ukraine; didn’t stop the transfer of Russian men and material to Ukraine and the Russian public hardly noticed them.
