‘Rude!’ Expert slams Prince Harry Meghan Markle coronation invitation saga | Palace Confidential. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being ‘a little rude’ by leaving the Palace in the dark over whether they’ll attend the King’s Coronation – and it’s now turning into a ‘puppet show’. That’s according to veteran royal correspondent, broadcaster and biographer Robert Jobson, who was speaking on our royal talkshow Palace Confidential. Responding to the Mail’s exclusive story that courtiers still aren’t sure if the Sussexes will attend with just 30 days to go, Jobson says: ‘They have been invited, and the longer they don’t say they’re either coming or not coming it’s detracting from the Coronation.’ Charlotte Griffiths, Editor at Large of The Mail on Sunday, adds: ‘For two people who don’t like drama, supposedly, it’s just adding more drama to this whole thing. The Palace would tell us if they knew [whether Harry & Meghan were coming].’ Jobson agreed: ‘They really would tell us if they knew. It’s beginning to turn into a bit of puppet show.’ The panel also discuss upcoming film Scoop, based on the Prince Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Prince Andrew will played by heartthrob Rufus Sewell, known for villainous roles in movies such as A Knight’s Tale and The Illusionist.
Jobson, who has written a new book on the King which is being serialised exclusively in the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday, says: ‘Anything to do with Epstein and the disastrous interview is a distraction but [the Royal family] will have to ride through it.’
