Not a great test. A lot of variables that change in 2 years that go into this that are not the driver.

Honestly this kind of shows how important it is to update drivers, but most of these games werent out before the first driver and the drivers target specific games

Driver have a major role in PC, that's exactly why nVidia cards are much better and have smoother framerate than AMD cards. They're absolutely necessary, not only on DX11 games, but DX12 either.

Best way to test it, is for the games that came out BEFORE 3080 release, so we can see actual improvement in the drivers, because most of the drivers are being optimized for the releases of particular game and the latest will always beat older drivers.
Sadly no driver will ever fix the underwater image flicker from assassins creed origins…and this crap was no where to be found on odler gpus and drivers..now on all new gpus rtx 2000+ this fucking issue is present
Man those CD Project Red games are insane. For one you can get twice fps by just installing the latest driver but the other will lose 1fps in average
cyberbugs on release vs now shows its game dev optimization not gpu updates making a difference. Look at rdr2 same game with 2 yrs of gpu drivers, zero difference

Damn, almost double FPS in CP2077. I noticed that the boost frequency was a bit higher too, seems like 50-100 Mhz on average.
I didint noticed any changes, My RTX 3060 struggles to run League Of Legends at 144 fps drops to 90 or below… no matter what drivers I use and no matter what graphics settings I use
