  1. We dont need more than that. It is the best fighter in the air. Nothing can fight it. The F22 can engage targets and the enemy never knows they were there. Even with a missile lock. When I was in the Air Force we had 8 F15s face off against 2 F22s and the F15s were all "shot down" and never heard a missile lock or knew they were there until the F22 came up behind them and then passed them. This was after the F15s were "shot down"

  2. Yeah… really don’t need more. F-15 upgrades in greater numbers will better serve multiple interests. F-15 can even be sent to support allies.
Plenty of F-22s to serve on carriers for long enough for any.. new models on the way in a dozen years or so.😂
Between 15s and 35s, Russian incompetence, Chinese economic problems + chip shortages… there isn’t much need for the good old 22

  3. I still think that we will regret closing down the production line for the Raptor. The F35 can be a great jet but it can't come close to doing what the F22 can when it comes to air superiority and dog fighting. In my humble opinion the best case scenario would be to open back up the production line for the F22 and build more of them along with more F35s because they are both at their very best when working together. The F22 takes care of aerial threats while the F35 takes care of SAM sites and does the networking. Side by side those 2 aircraft are very tough to match let alone beat

  4. Russia and China are pretty far behind still. China claims to have a bomber equivalent to the B2s capabilities. The problem with that is they are about 40 years behind the US. The US is getting ready to replace the B2 with the B21, and China just created a plane with technology the US is about to throw away.

  5. The only real competition we have from China and Russia are the Chinese J-20 Mighty Dragon (may as well be called toothless dragon since it has no gun) and the Russian Su-57 Felon. The J-20 has true stealth and has an rcs of about 0.02m/s but the 57 is laughable as it has no stealth but is low observable. The 20 isn’t as agile in turns as the 22 and only holds about 6 missiles in its weapon bays, the 57 can hold 6 weapons and has a 30mm auto cannon and has 3D thrust vectoring for added turning agility. The Chinese have about 120 (could be wrong) J-20s and the Russians have maybe 6 Su-57s now, not a whole lot but they could be a threat to our tiny fleet of F-22s if (and that’s a really big IF) competent pilots fly them. Honestly we could use more of them and soon with things heating up in the Eurasian countries.

  6. Not an expert but I know some things. Grew up next to an Airforce Base. F-22 and F-35 are getting really close to being the LAST manned fighters. Drones are making Americans ask if we really need to put pilots in harms way. Plus, we can make even more manueverable aircraft.. the human in the cockpit is the limitation we are hitting. The human body can only take so much G-force. We can engineer aircraft capable of more G-force.. we just cant have a human survive in them. Lol F-18 can do more than the body can withstand. It has a feature to where if the pilot passes out, the plane knows it and will level itsself off and fly level until the pilot comes back around. However, the pilot and plane are vulnerable during that period. F-22 is clearly the best at what its deaigned to do but a weird fact is most the cool things we see it doing in vids, it would almost never do in combat. The standing on end, floating and drifting almost like a piece of paper in a breeze, slow tight manuevers etc. At those speeds it would be completely vulnerable and it would take many seconds for it to accelerate out of that situation where it could really defend itsself. Most of that type of slow, impressive looking flying is for Air Shows just to show how controlable it is at low speed because it looks so impressive… but its not really a combat manuever. Turning and burning with stealth in a dogfight at a few hundred miles per hour, or long range stand off against less than peer aircraft is where it really shines. Doing slow wheelies at a 50mph ground speed is a good way to get killed. Lol The F35 is much cheaper and can do many of the same functions with the same stealth signature. Also, 187 F22's is not an insignificant number. I dont think id want to be most countries trying to figure out how to handle dozens of pairs of those invisibly coming across my boarder with evil intentions. Lol Just imagine how a conflict the size of the Ukraine/Russia war would be affected with several dozen pairs of those entering the battle.. along with a few hundred F35's and a few hundred F-16's and F-18's. Only 3 or 4 countries in the world would stand a chance.. and that wouldnt even be half our fighters. Not even close. Lol

  7. Let's clear something up. They went into the tool box for the f22 and nothing was found. Literally mean that the plan and the components to make the f22 are missing. Also, on top of this the plans for some of the f35 and f22 came up missing from Lockheed, since they had a breach in security. Which seems highly unlikely. My educated guess would be they used the tool box on the f35 to justify the cost. The other problem is the price. Military prices go down the more they sell. The price of the f22 went down as they sold more. Look at the price of the f35 when it 1st started production and now, it's cheaper. And let me remind you that the Russian & Chinese fighters resemble the f22 & f35 very closely after Lockheed lost data. By the way the yf23 did better than the f22 during testing and the f22 belly flopped 2 times!

  8. I live by patrick Airforce base, They train the F-22 and F-35 pilots there, they fly them. I can tell you from Northrop Gruman and Lokheed martin being in the same area, and a test pilot i know, The already have working prototypes, about 9-12 months before they take flight. The only reason why he told me is because I have low tier security clearence. my old neighbor was an E7 at the base and when he was drunk we would talk about planes because he would say a litle bit of information.

  9. F-22 is superior in most ways to F-35, but F-35 has lower top speed and flight ceiling, and has less stealth capacity, but it's much less expensive and it's more maneuverable in certain ways while also costing less per flight. There's no reason to say the F-35 is superior overall, but there are ways that F22 is better than F35 and reasons for the F35 to be superior to the F22… but overall the only major reason for the discontinuing of the F-22 is actually price. You could replace the avionics and stuff in the F-22 with stuff compatible or equal to the computer and interface and communications technologies of the F-35, but the only real thing the F-22 doesn't have is STOVL / VTOL / etc capabilities.

  10. You need to recheck your figures on US Economy at the moment. GDP growth is 5.9% is very impressive. Unemployment is 3.7% with record numbers of job creation.

Inflation at 3.1% is not so good, and of course the Americans are all feeling that as we all are in Europe. Same with interest rates being relatively high to the last 15 years.

Back to the positives. Record stock markets including S&P 500 which is representative of the broader economy. Possibly as a result of the build back better bill getting past last year I think it was.

  11. Russia cancelled the SU-57 years ago with only 7,…yes SEVEN produced becasue none of their Allie’s ended up ordering them which was going to fund their own fleet of them. A number of countries that has committed to ordering X amount once it was built , tested and cleared for combat all started withdrawing but India was still in and planned to purchase enough of them that it would facilitate side by side production of their own with indias at a 1:1 build ratio. The SU-57 finished testing and cleared for combat with India’s commitment still in until the US military intervened. The US knew India ideally wanted to design their own in house 5th Gen fighter so they wouldn’t have to rely on Russia which is aligned with China , Indias primary threat and neighbor. Thus if it kicked off with China there’d be a good chance Russia could cut off Indias remaining # and the maintenance, suport and parts needed to maintain them. The US knew India above all wanted to build their own they could design completely for their needs, be built in house to help their own economy instead of Russias and be self dependent on their air needs BUT Indias 5th Gen program was had a few significant delays that would put them too far behind by the time they complete them primarily in stealth technology , tech and engine advancements. The US military knew that Russia , only having a couple built 100% needed this deal to fund their fleet , and us being much more aligned with India if a China US and or Russia US conflict kicked off and our leaders believed if we interfered and able to get this commitment cancelled , thst Russia simply couldn’t build any significant amount to be a threat. The actual ability now that Russia had a functioning “5th Gen” stealth fighter , to be able to end Russias ability to build an entire fleet of them was too significant , so officials contacted the India Air Force and stated the truth and an offer, they stated Russia doesn’t have 150+ , they have 7 , 3 destroyed in tests and Indias risk if anything kicks off losing support , the false stealth claim , engine issues etc as well as the threat of having a Russia with an entire fleet of them. The US pitched GIVING Indias AirForce some critical data in the areas India was lacking that would save them a decade of R&D to where they could actually build their own and help themselves. It’s well known the US stealth development is far beyond the rest of the world , so India getting this data could put the Indian Air Force just behind the US and Chinas then development of the J20 could be matched and succeeded by India. India didn’t hesitate, they cancelled their order/commitment immidately infuriating Putin and went all in on their own in house. Russia also had some issues , the engines are notoriously unreliable and the smoke heavily puking black smoke when afterburners used giving a very visible smoke trail for an enemy. The US also released an assessment given to congress about the threat of the SU-57 where it was anylized in great depth determined it is well behind even the aging F22 in tech and ability, the stealth capability was calculated to not be equall to the Raptor as stated but not much better than a 4th Gen fighter if it had stealth coating. They noticed all aircraft seen had exposed rivets in every connection which greatly reduced stealth a shy mmmmm the Saturn engines generate so much heat without any attempt to hide it or even mask the back 1/4 the engine that’s exposed and hurts its stealth. They also determined from an ongoing surveillance operation via satelites with advanced optics /cameras that Russias claim to have over 150 of them was smoke, they were only able to count 7 in total with 3 of them crashing in testing and the remaining 4 found bueng moved around and even photographed being painted differently constantly to air it oook like they had a bunch of them . Russias done this in the Ukraine invasion with most of their aircraft but caught doing this and even painting exact dimnension shapes on the stir areas of air fields to look like aircraft via satelite or recon drone. With Russias invasion of Ukraine and the absolute disapointment in Russias ability and capability to have any type of air superiority on a smaller border country not in nato that has a small number of outdated Russian jets , we know Russia isn’t a threat anymore to America but China is, the 150 J20’s with production exceeding F35 production is a serious concern with the Taiwan situation, I think it’s partly shy we are selling them to our allied nations , get as many of these 5th Gen , sensor fusion fighters to all our Allie’s so it ww3 hits, sensor fusion among the entire west would be a massive advantage.

  12. Also the Raptor was banned for export. Only the US could have them. We would help allies with stuff using them but nobody could have the best. The F-35 was probably a bone being thrown at the military industrial machine to allow them to build 3 variants and also be able to sell them around the world.

  13. As I understand F-22 is the king of air-to-air, but F-35 is better suited to go into enemy airspace, identify locations of defense assets, and avoid them while communicating to ships, subs, other aircraft, etc. where to fire missiles to take out the defenses. So 2 different roles, but head-to-head in a dogfight with its better stealth and maneuverability.

  14. The last Raptor was built in 2011. A Massive 30 year program that achieved absolutely nothing. The Raptor didn't fly its first combat mission until 2014 which was to bomb an Isis command center. This could have been done just as well by dozens of other aircraft. The F16 was and still is more than sufficient to dominate the skies. The F16 has won every dogfight it has entered and the only ever air to air loss of an f16 was a collision with another f16. The f15 has never been shot down by ground or air based defenses so the need for the f16 at all was also questionable😊. In the 1980's everyone in the us government knew that the collapse of the ussr was coming very quickly it would have been really hard not to by 1985. The f22 wasnt made to fight the soviets is was made to do questionable things in countries we couldn't be seen doing questionable things in and it turned out that the obvious was obviously and that we would be better off building a plane we could export to people that would do those sketchy things for us. The only actual justification for the raptor was because sold f16s to our enemies.

  15. Not to get political, but your statement about the US (and UK) not doing very well economically right now, is not correct. I know you do mostly military stuff, but maybe a comparison of US and world economies in 2023 would be a good vid.

  16. The F-35 had no impact on the decision to not build more F-22 fighters. Don't forget the 6th generation fighter is being designed now. That plane will supersede the F-22.
