Royal Air Force unlawfully discriminated against white men in bid to boost diversity

An official inquiry has found the Royal Air Force unlawfully discriminated against white men, in a recruitment drive aimed at boosting diversity.

The finding is the culmination of a scandal first exposed last August when Sky News revealed the RAF’s then-head of recruitment had resigned over the issue.

Our Security and Defence Editor, Deborah Haynes, broke the story and reports on the latest development.

  1. This does not just happen in the RAF. This is service wide. Not just on career courses but also Promotions, Good men not promoted to get someone else up in rank because they are so bad the unit wants them moved on (which happens when people are promoted) Then all this makes it worse as the wrong person is now one link higher in the chain, making the lives of those below a lot worse through bad leadership.

  2. Read these comments … people don't approve of this balderdash promoting people based on sex or ethnicity. It's illegal, and yet it went on .. and this former air marshal should face charges.

  3. Anti racists push a racist mindset on people when it comes to equality and diversity because they then start to choose people on their race which makes them racist the thing they thing they are against in the first place these clowns will always expose themselves because they don't use simple logic or common sense

  4. This is racism against white people in their own country people should be chosen on merit not skin colour these people will ruin this country if they carry on like this those responsible for this policy should be kicked out of their job

  5. Australian RAAF has the same problem. A quick perusal of RAAF's website reveals an organizational culture of "Gender diversity", "Religious & ethnic diversity", "Indigenous participation" and "LGBTIQ+ inclusion". Would be nice if the RAAF focused on how to win a fight… just for once.

  6. Strikes me as amusing that lack of merit based appointments is causing such outrage when Johnson’s Crony Cabinet was jam packed with utterly inept serial lying self serving chancers and reprobates like Mogg Dorries Patel Zahawi er al.

  7. Not just the RAF. We have professional armed services. Diluted with this diversity equality hatred. I remember they wanted women in my role. I was allocated one of these "soldiers". She couldnt even lift a sledge hammer or any of the kit that we had to move in the field.

  8. ‪There was one person who stood up in defence of white men. When this happens to ethnic minorities, the majority of the workforce stand up, kneel, pledge millions and demand a hundred enquires. ‬

  9. It was racist to white men, call it out properly. Institutional racist policy against white men. Same thing happening in Police, Army, Navy and Civil Service. How many job adverts are out there and say only Ethnic minorities can apply? How many steaight white men are employed as Diversity leaders in companies?

  10. The woke band of global victimness should now know the tide has turned back towards reality. It has taken far too long for most of us .this all started with legalising a disgusting physical act many years ago. Thank God the normal men and women of our country 🎉🎉are now being heard

  11. I recently applied for a job at a major American aircraft manufacturer. The 'competency' interview was about "remembering a time when"! and relating to racism, sexism, and diversity. I have always been respectful of other peoples choices in life and made that very clear in the interview. I was told that I was not a good 'fit' for the job even though I have 30 years experience in a similar position! I was told afterwards that a senior executive at that company had complained there was too many white middle aged men in the position I had applied for and this may have affected my application. The person who was offered the job was 'trans'. If this person was the best person for this job I have no problem with this, but I honestly believe that my race, gender, age and sexuality had influenced their decision and that I was discriminated against. Positive racism, sexism etc. is just racism and sexism!
