The Rover 75 has an MOT booked so I want to make it as presentable as possible, and that means putting back all the underbody trim that came off for the head gasket job, but before that there was some surface rust that needed treating plus some other pre-MOT checking before a deep clean.

Well done on this episode Matt you are very methodical and precise hope it passes mot regards from Scotland 🎥🏴🇬🇧⚙️
Winter wouldn't be winter without Mr. Matt doing inappropriate work for the conditions. Or appropriate work in inappropriate conditions..? It's one of them. I do love the look of the Rover and the colour. Just that pesky engine..!
Car is coming along great! I think you should keep the original stereo if it works properly and upgrade the speakers for better sound. I have hundreds of nos blank tapes so i can record some albums for you for the full 2003 experience (seriously)🎶🎸🎹🎵
At least the weather is improving. Nice looking car.
🎶clay bar🎶 – excellent 😂
Any vehicle rusts in the UK but fortunately in Australia modern cars usually don't rust my 1997 Toyota Hilux has only surface rust but its not a fail with the yearly rego check but there are some modern vehicles that do rust in Australia they are the Chinese built vehicles and the Chinese LDV utes they do rust terribly just demonstrates what awful build quality they have were my 27 year old Hilux is of far superior build quality than any Chinese built vehicle
Your neighbours car port …. Hmmm is it even finished ?
Nice 75. Probably not the time of year for it but any plans for some MX5 content?
Matt, the 75 is an absolute gem and well worth all of your time,’effort and tinkering to really bring it up to the best that it can be, I really enjoy the attention and content you are putting into it, please keep it long term, it’s a wonderful thing!!
When torquing fasteners with copper grease just reduce the torque value by 25-30% and you will get the correct clamping force (important on alloy wheels) and you`re sorted.
Great work matt👍she is a beautiful car ❤ had serpents on a royal blue ztt, nothing else like them
If you can access the washer pump, unplug the hose and try blasting some compressed air up it before taking all the bonnet lining off. Not too high a pressure and it often shifts a blockage.
Good luck with the screen wash. It will probably turn into a video. I had a BMW 420d convertible the other day the fluid had turned into a gel.
It was located behind the wing. Wheel off, liner out. I still could not remove the tank because of the vent on the wing that is fitted from the inside. Had to drill the vent out and glue it back. Job took two and a half hours.
Unless you are keeping the car long term, DON’T change the interior and definitely not the wheels…. the Union alloys are perfect for that car and the 16” wheel and tyre combination is the ideal style / ride / handling compromise for a Series 1 Connoisseur….
Matt that really is a beautiful example of a 75, and it is so synonymous with your channel, it would be an awful shame to sell it now! Like i said that car is basically your brand on 4 wheels, you really should think about keeping it!!!
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
POR 15 is the worst stuff on the planet!
It's the fan favourite, Rover 75. ❤😊
Do you have to throw away the clay bar after using it on the car?🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧
Keep it!!!
My hat, calendar and stickers arrived this week. Looks great. Hope you got to put the metal mini baubles up this year.
Interesting the issues you ran into trying to bleed the brakes using that kit – I had similar issues when I replaced the callipers on the V70 – did eventually get therein the end though. I'm afraid I might of choked on my tea when that bottle went over! 🤣❤
Wish I hadn't watched this because I have nowhere to put a Rover 75.
On the plus side my Son's 2011 Clubman Cooper SD Hampton arrives from Coventry next week.
Nice work
Bucket of warm water to help soften the clay bar, and make it in to a flat disk so you can fold it if half when it becomes dirty and then flatten again into a disk, not roll it in to a sausage and mix. 😉
For the spill I'd use ashes from the fire then sweep it up. Water washes away brake fluid quite well…..
The 75 is becoming a museum piece. Nice
Lo Matt, i cannae believe you are actually debating whether to keep this or not. The car is fine in the spec it is in.. Washers. Save faffing about and cut the tube from the washer motor to the wjpers at the exit to the washers and work up from there.OR get some tube and replace the lot. Much easier. 🤣🤣 Mind you just because you hear the noise from the motor diznae mean it is pumping water. Ive had this happen to me before. Later
Why do you do all this work in the wet? Wait for a few hours, or even till the next day for a cloudless, sunny day, then do it. You Pommes have a funny way of doing stuff, I’ve even seen a bloke in a convertible, roof down and wearing a wooly jacket and scarf!! T shirt and shorts when you are in a convertible!!
Try the filter on the pipe in the washer bottle first.
You know, there are a few youtubers that have the issue of storage space or llack thereof. Maybe you all should pool together and invest in a huge warehouse haha.
Tap water can fir up the water jets especially water from Kent
Fab example of a 75
Today my Laguna had its MOT and it passed with flying colors! Felt the need to say that, cause Matt's video on the Laguna convinced me to buy this car in the first place! Not bad for a 1999 car 😀
The '75' just does not want to go away, she wants to stay where she'll be cared for and looked after. You could reconsider keeping her as one of the fleet.
Great looking 75, Matt. Hope all of the bottom arms are good.
Thanks
Stunning car, Matt. What make is the clear wax please?
Great job Matt I think you should keep this beautiful Rover 75 best regards Andy Allen
Filter in bottle or in line valve blocked in pipe just take the in line valve out join it up will fix it
Definitely keep the velour, its a lovely material and adds so much to the car.
Brake fluid cleans best with water in my experience. I learned that from an old mechanic. Before that I was using brake parts cleaner and all that.
Finding stuff while you're fixing something else… Yeah thats the story of every single car on any enthousiasts fleet. 😛
Try a syringe on the pipe when you pull off the nozzle end, draw fluid thru.
Congratulations on 100k subs Matt, ive been here since the black bangernomics mondeo you started the channel with 😊
Yay!! Love your 75!
Congratulations on 100k subs❤
Halfords are Yuasa, not sure what the difference is but I'm pretty sure the Halfords best is just rebadged. The cheaper non-calcium one I'm not sure.
With respect, perhaps try and get a better microphone !
It's a,keeper Matt
