you should interview Bobby Jackson of the Jets (I have his #) and Tony Dorsett and Pat Carter (Rams)(also have him number) that suffer from this. Hell I played one season in high school and as a DB hit many times and I don't remember high school.
Its all about money! From both sides. These guys dont take these jobs because they have other options. If I can make 20 million for 5 years of work, I dont have to work again. If I make 200k, I have to work 100 years to make that. Very few kids, ppl under the age of 30-40, can be mature enough to choose something else.
Its often not depression, it is an adjustment disorder because as a player you can be singularly focused, propped up, adored, plenty of money, etc. Then you go to no game, no locker room, no brotherhood, existential crisis. Life is tough man, welcome.
It's a cultural issue in the game of football. When Roger Goodell outlawed the Oklahoma Drill, that was a major cultural shift that resonated from the NFL to college and downward. It's going to take a major cultural shift in the game to change how players approach issues like head injuries. Plus, the economics drives a lot of these decisions. You got a $20 billion entity, which makes everybody under that shield expendable.
I've heard more than one DB/Safety say that Calvin "Megatron" Johnson was the toughest receiver to cover because he was big enough to run over you, tall and athletic enough to out jump you and fast enough, 4.25, to run right by. Matt Stafford was good for him but just imagine "Megatron" with TB12 or Mahomes.
Hines ward isn’t a HOFer. Is Brandon Marshall? A superior talent who just doesn’t have the SB rings. His stats are a lot better with about 40 less games played
Football players should do something safer like be a janitor or a cashier at McDonalds they would be so much happier without the millions of the dollars and CTE.
They're become addicted in becoming idols/worshipped hence Idolatry… You shall have no other God's before the Lord Jesus ✓ …. Should the NFL be sued as an example?I say yes✓
Best interview Ive heard a former player give. Honesty about the other side of being a top tier athlete and the consequences of being in a violent sport. .
First view Dan's old buddy
they get paid to risk it all. rodney STFU.

Rodney was a dirty player…..that’s not a compliment. He didn’t need to be.

Two words. Junior Seau.
Foolsball y’all!
Free .99 CTE!
A dying fckng sport.
You have to be a little crazy to play violent sports.
Okay so immediately I'm just not going to watch this video because no one helped Rodney Harrison with his lighting situation.
Love Rodney, but if it were up to Dan just about everyone he likes would get into the Hall of Fame
If you lie you can’t sue
I think he has a bad neck injury, back injury and maybe concussion
Dan kept asking the same questions. I was wondering if he was confused because Rodney was very clear to me. Dan seemed baffled at times.

Rodney you're definitely a TV Hall of Fame
