  1. you should interview Bobby Jackson of the Jets (I have his #) and Tony Dorsett and Pat Carter (Rams)(also have him number) that suffer from this. Hell I played one season in high school and as a DB hit many times and I don't remember high school.

  2. Its all about money! From both sides. These guys dont take these jobs because they have other options. If I can make 20 million for 5 years of work, I dont have to work again. If I make 200k, I have to work 100 years to make that. Very few kids, ppl under the age of 30-40, can be mature enough to choose something else.

  3. Its often not depression, it is an adjustment disorder because as a player you can be singularly focused, propped up, adored, plenty of money, etc. Then you go to no game, no locker room, no brotherhood, existential crisis. Life is tough man, welcome.

  4. It's a cultural issue in the game of football. When Roger Goodell outlawed the Oklahoma Drill, that was a major cultural shift that resonated from the NFL to college and downward. It's going to take a major cultural shift in the game to change how players approach issues like head injuries. Plus, the economics drives a lot of these decisions. You got a $20 billion entity, which makes everybody under that shield expendable.

  5. I've heard more than one DB/Safety say that Calvin "Megatron" Johnson was the toughest receiver to cover because he was big enough to run over you, tall and athletic enough to out jump you and fast enough, 4.25, to run right by. Matt Stafford was good for him but just imagine "Megatron" with TB12 or Mahomes.
