Of course that "Mother" wrote that letter in such a manner as to leave herself with some way of escaping culpability, and to try to establish some sort of minute prospect of plausible deniability, if the contents are only ever seen by Completely Braindead Morons, that is – shady wench was trying to factor in some (highly Un)reasonable doubt….; knowing fully well that, because of the henious actions of her son, circumstances exactly like what's going on right now were inevitably going to occur and she didn't fancy bearing the consequences for her actions….

Do they seriously not 'get' that people would have entirely different feelings towards them if they hadn't made this whole tragedy so unnecessarily drawn out, painful, traumatic and hateful for Gabby's family – if they had behaved with even a modicum of decency or respectful dignity since this awful ordeal started…?!?! If anybody belonging to me did Anything even remotely like what their son did, I would crawl on my hands and knees, through broken glass and dirt, the entire way from Florida to New York, to apologize and beg Gabby's parents for forgiveness, sometime, far away in the future if they ever felt able….
THE LEAST THAT THEY SHOULD'VE DONE WAS TO INFORM THE AUTHORITIES, TO STOP THE SAVAGE TORMENT THAT GABBY'S PARENTS WERE GOING THROUGH, KNOWIING BUT NOT KNOWING WHERE, OR HOW, ETC (EVEN ANONYMOUSLY VIA THE ANONYMOUS TIP LINE, OR VIA AN ATTORNEY, IF THEY WERE STILL FEELING PARTICULARLY LIKE SCUMBAGS, WHO WERE JUST TRYING TO COVER THEIR OWN ASSES ALL ALONG AND MERELY 'LOOK OUT FOR THEIR OWN', IF NECESSARY) AT LEAST GIVE THEM A BETTER CHANCE OF SAYING GOODBYE, AS 'PROPERLY' AND WITH AS MUCH DIGNITY AS WAS POSSIBLE – LIKE HOW I PRESUME THEY DID WITH THEIR SON. THEN I'D HAVE SOME SYMPATHY FOR THEIR SITUATION – BUT THE WAY IN WHICH THEY CHOSE TO BEHAVE (AND ARE STILL BEHAVING – LIKE PETULANT, PETTY TEENAGERS; RELEASING THE LETTER WORLDWIDE WITHOUT WARNING THE PETITO FAMILY OR GIVING THEM ANY CHANCE TO DIGEST THE CONTENTS OF THE LETTER) GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES, MEANS THAT I HAVE PRECISELY NO SYMPATHY FOR THEM WHATSOEVER – NONE!!!
Let's be real – the only way that Roberta Laundrie's pathetic attempts to cover her own ass, or have any shred of "Plausible" Deniability, would work is if the person seeing the contents of that letter, given the circumstances in which it was found, is either a Toddler or an Absolute Dribbling Imbecile – anybody with more than one braincell can see straight through it…!!
Is it any wonder their son showed such utter contempt for human life, when his mother obviously thinks that the entire 'rest of' humanity are apparently THAT IDIOTIC (as to believe her absolute bullsh!t "explanations" for one second, especially considering their behavior since the very second they became aware of the fact that this tragic situation arose in the first place) in her estimation…?!?! Is this a letter to her evil son or is it a letter to his evil mother, cause it might make a difference, why im saying that is because if it was a letter to his mother from him he had already killed Gabby, so he wrote her a letter pretty much confessing .then she wrote him a letter back something to do with garbage bags and a shovel. I think im not to sure.

When she let them shack up at her house thats proof he can do anything he wants, and its ok with her…he didn't burn it…he didn't care about parents either. Son killed her, his parents didn't kill her. Her parents didn't stop her from shacking up at his parents' house and didn't talk her into living at home with them. Both parents failed their kids. The letter is extremely disturbing regardless of when it was written. Me and my Mom are super super close and if she ever wrote me a letter like this I’d be very very uncomfortable.
There is no evidence it was ‘written before’. In fact it could well be a coded message-look at THE ONLY correction in the letter, it is the line about disposing of the body.
if Roberta is telling the truth, that she wrote, and gave this letter to her son before Gabby and him went on the trip, or she lied and she new Brian had already killed Gabby when she wrote this to her son, I dont see the difference, either way she gave her son permission to kill, its a permission to kill letter from a mother to her son, its nauseating, it makes me feel sick to read it.
