Jerry Goldsmith talks to Robert Osborne about the oscars and talks about some of the films that have been nominated and speaks about his own score for the film The Wind and the Lion. The video of this interview is poor and is online, see below for link. I have reconstructed the interview and expanded it with extra music, using stills and some minor edits. Jerry Goldsmith was a great film composer his range was phernomenal and is sadly no longer with us, however his music will never die! Please leave comments if you so wish.
Great to hear from Jerry and his some of his lovely scores, the scores he admired and those that influenced him. Thanks!
This is odd sounding. James, did you replicate the original interview via AI? I have this, and the only readily available version has some pretty rough sound. Is that why? I'd think maybe you did some (amazing) clean-up, but I know this interview, and in it, Jerry doesn't sound like he's reading; he kind of does here. I'm genuinely just curious about the choice you made in this production.
