  1. It makes me feel so old to realize this was the first game I played in this genre…and I was 19 when it came out!

(also, I'm glad my name fits in short character-limit boxes as well!)

  2. Ah yes… this was my first step into the world of farming games back in the old days. I can't remember how many hours I spent on my SNES on this game and I don't regret it.

  3. I don´t know if you already told this, but one good trick at the start of the game is chopping wood only at nightime since the night is ETERNAL in this game. And as long you go to the spring to restore stamina you can clean your farm in just one or two nights. Another one is by giving a pregnant cow a medicine it would give birth in 3 days rather than the usual 30 it would normally take.

  4. I am bittersweet about the first HM(now SoS). It was a very cool take on the then very dry farm sim genre by introducing marriage and festivities, wrapped in a jrpg gameplay. By now it's just too much. I can't water each plot one by one and pick up the produce one by one. There was just too much progress since then.

  5. Remember, Natsume loves to tout how great they are for being the owners of Harvest Moon games for over 25 years… despite being the localizers that didn't do so well on this game's translation lol.

  6. What a nice gift to show up for us! Thanks for sharing this info and a little video. My first time playing this game, I was at a friend's house who introduced me to it. I played it all day and beat it at 4 AM when he'd already gone to sleep haha. A short but fun game!

  7. WOOOO!! ❤ I played this for the first time when I was 12, and was hooked on farming sims ever since! I am so happy to see this get ported to NSO, and I really hope HM64 gets ported over.

  8. I played this back in the day, but I was too young to understand it. So I just walked around and didn’t understand the game. But technically it was my first harvest moon game 😂😂

  9. this game is about as old as I am, so it's my first time playing! I really enjoy simple farming. So far I'm a little concerned about having to ship items one at a time… Also, I had a bug where my tool disappeared forever after switching it! Luckily I figured it out early so I could keep my tools, but I lost my free grass seeds 😢😅

  10. It's so cool that they released this for Switch. I'm tempted to give it a try. My first farming game was Harvest Moon 3 as a kid. To this day the fact that playing as a woman gives you a permanent debuff and ends the game when you get married. Hopefully if they re-release that one they'll change that like they have in the more recent games.

  11. I totally didn't expect this, I'm so happy that they added this game to Switch online! Harvest Moon 64 was my first game in the series too so I'm really really hoping this means that they'll add it one day too!

  12. What I like about this game that I miss from some of the others is that the girls had a special event once you got them to a high enough heart level (e.g. Eve's grandfather getting trapped in the cave). HM64 did something similar where you could visit the girl at her house when she was sick. I'd like to see more interactions like that in future games, especially because you got to see character traits in some of those (like the stuffed horse Gray bought Ann).
