Revisiting BO4 Zombies In 2024: Were we wrong?

I I decided to revisit and do a analysis on Black Ops 4 zombies in preparation for Black Ops 6. As a fan of Call of Duty and games in general. I decided to create an analysis videos I decided to make one for myself and you.

Black Ops 4 was massively controversial when it first came out on the 12th of October in 2018. The game introduced many new features replacing already established icons within the game, while also introducing new games modes to Zombies. The game was massively controversial when it was first released due to these changes. For many it marked the end of their time with the franchise including mine.
Now Black Ops 6 is being announced and they are saying that zombies will be going back to formula. I thought it was time to go back to when they arguably changed everything from the original formula in Black Ops 4. The game introduced many new modes and challenges as well as perks.
So, with all of that I decided to go back to the game that made me stop playing. I only played 3 maps when it came out in 2018. For most of them I had to approach them from a new players perspective. My goal was to reach round 20 with no prior experience to see how a new player would have felt back in 2018.

This video will cover every zombie map that was released as well as every new character introduced. This video will always cover the special abilities as well as my opinion on map layout, atmosphere and my personal enjoyment.

  1. Awesome video man. I very much enjoyed BO4 zombies and never quite understood the hate for it. Every big zombies YouTuber throws so much shade at it and I don't think it's deserved. This is coming from someone whos first map was WaW Nacht 16 years ago (typing that just made me realize I'm getting old) and has played every map since. I LOVE the classic zombies gameplay, feel, aesthetics, and overall experience; I mean it's what a lot of my childhood friendships were built on, but I also welcome new zombies with open arms. People forget that without innovation, we would get the same thing every year and then they would be complaining about how the devs aren't doing enough. I am so excited for BO6, I think it will be an awesome addition to the list.

  2. in my opinion bo4 sucked how do you ruin a five and motd remake the perk system sucks and it just doesn't feel like the zombies we all loved waw-bo3 did it perfectly why change it also every map is just meh mediocre the 2 best maps were the remakes and they somehow found a way to ruin them if five and motd was on zombie chronicles instead because those are basically copy and pastes with enhanced gameplay and graphics they would be amazing because motd would still be motd and five would still be five with the same characters and perk system the charm of five is playing as jfk castro nixon and McNamara in the pentagon the same as motd playing as criminals in alcatraz and the afterlife mechanic made motd so much better

  3. Bro bo3 gobblegums got lucky we could close app otherwise gums wouldn’t be as loved as they are today it goes to show with the elixers how they can’t be saved shows u how the community would have reacted to gobblegums in the first place , as to the perk system u realize in bo3 u got 4 perks aside from gobblegums and on bo4 u get 7 perks , the 4 you choose , the modifier is number 5 then built in jugg and then speed cola that’s 7 perks , wake up

  4. BO4 will never be good and never will, what an load of shit that game was. I mean 50 euro's for what poor quality Zombie maps? Remastered version of Nuketown, like who asked for that? Gameplay didn't feel right, bullet sponges of mini boss… Don't even get me started on the Chaos maps…

  6. Yes you all were wrong, this game was a banger day one and would've been the best zombies game if it didn't get absolutely dragged through the mud. It had it's problems, but its the same problems games before and after have had that no one gives af about.

  7. It’s weird hearing a review from a casual like no mention of any Easter eggs which are what I think makes the mode the most fun. That’s why I prefer blood to mob of the dead because it’s got a difficult solo Easter egg. Also DOTN has one of the best wonder weapons ever. Nonetheless well structured video

  8. The zombies community has been a lesson to me of what preconceived notions and opinions of "authority figures" can do to people's opinions. This is why I dont like when people tell me they dont like something before I experience it, whether it be a game, movie, book, etc. If I go in thinking about if its bad, Im gonna start looking for the flaws over the things I love. This is what has caused me to appreciate things so much more than other people's pessimistic attitudes at times

  9. Would you be down to play bo4 sometime? I have it on ps5 and have done all the easter eggs several times with Dead of the Night having my most completions at 37. I wouldnt mind trying to teach/help you with the maps

  10. I really enjoyed bo4 at the start. My computer had a hard time running it at the time so playing for long hours wasnt really an option.
I upgraded my computer and got back to the bo4 grind… the game was dead by then and all its luster had loat.
I think it does a lot of great things like the easter eggs and atmosphere. but its got no replay value for me. I still see myself playing any version of origins before i redownload bo4

  11. Good video, I agree 100% and subbed. just one thing you forgot and/or didn't realize, the scepter of ra can pick up teammates from the start using the beam, you don't need level 3's bubble effect for that.
