We got so many new announcements from the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products panel this year. but let’s talk about what they mean for this Boundless Future.
Each week, we cover the top stories in Disney Parks news and discuss the topics that are top of mind for the Disney community.
Welcome to ParksCenter on WDWNT.TV! We’re back with more news and discussing the latest happenings in Disney Parks. Also, thanks for joining us live at our new time, 9pm ET!
Last show, we made predictions on what we might hear from Josh D’Amaro at this year’s Expo.
We got some of the announcements we expected, like the updated timeframe for Tron Lightcycle Run, updates on Toontown, a look at Mando and Grogu coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and the return of Happily Ever After to the Magic Kingdom!
They also hit us with some surprises, such as the new attractions for Avengers Campus and a brand new nighttime show for EPCOT.
Finally, they gave us a look at several blue-sky projects that “could” be coming to Orlando.
But what does the rest mean and what did they miss? Our panel will discuss it all.

I missed the beginning of the show and wanted to share a comment with Charlie. He mentioned he was originally a paleontogist. I went to AK for the first time in 1999 and saw them cleaning the bones of a t-rex who later became known as Sue and was placed in a museum in Chicago. We went back in 2000 and they were finishing the work. I actually had a chance to see Sue after a convention in Chicago a couple of years later. All of that was fascinating and those are my memories of Dinoland which I will have going forward.
I hate to see Dinoland go as well. I do think Moana fits well, the South Pacific with the Finding Nemo musical nearby, after Asia. They should bring in another animal exhibit for Australia: kangaroos, dingo, koalas that would be so cool!
What announcement from D23 Expo was most exciting to you?
Sorry, Charlie, but there are some things that WDW does do better: free parking, more bang for your buck (annual pass for 4 parks is cheaper than DL's annual pass for 2 parks), there's way more food allergy inclusion @ Disney Springs (organic, gluten-free, vegan, etc.) than Downtown Disney (which only has Sprinkles for food allergy inclusion).
I agree, Tom, we should've been there when they were getting rid of the educational elements of Epcot. If I known about y'all back then, I would've been there.
See id keep dino land as is…add two other flat rides…like a scrambler an tilt a whirl…then a dino themed walk threw fun house…then the road that leads threw dino land make at the other end a entrance into Zootopia using land behind dino land .. in Zootopia have the main city but have a cut threw to the artic section of Zootopia… an since it would be inhumane to have real animals from these cold places do a dark ride with polar bears an penguins…make it very cold an have snope…then in 5-10 years when they could do the Zootopia ride from Shanghai put that in then main land, but they have to use the same animatronics…next to Asia an expedition do India themed land with animal trails an a fantasyland style dark ride themed to jungle book. Orrr you could tare down the Nemo show, and do the aquarium themed to finding Dory…do a crushes coater, turtle talk, and do a better version of the dark ride threw the aquarium like how they do in Epcot…then tear that one down an do a Moana water thrill ride in Epcot.
I love this tom , im 50 50 on if everything will come to fuition. But he seems more balanced now. I think its more fitting to be positive at first , then if theres a reason to be negative [ say they dont build anything ] then grab your pitchforks. Cause if everyone is negative off the bat then people will be like, oh disney fans are impossible to pleaee its not us. Alot more people should follow Toms optimism.
Good episode but I'm not buying Tom's take. When it comes to attractions, more is better and plastic surgery on Dinoland is not going to add anything. Even with a reservation for the legends panel we ended up being walked in late. We could hear the Chapek boo in the basement.
Magic Kingdom doesn't need more to do. If they expand that park, they will also increase capacity, won't they? I seriously doubt they expand it and keep capacity the same. Expansions are ridiculous, they need a 5th gate. Their land is bigger than New York City, it's absurd they want to squeeze stuff behind Big Thunder Mountain. They keep building more DVC towers but they're not building any parks for all these additional people to go to.
Edit: Increasing the number of attractions still means people need to take more time to do it all. It still translates into needing more days for your vacation to do it all, whether the attractions are spread across 4 parks or 5.
How does Moana belong in Animal Kingdom? Even Zootopia is a stretch, but Moana doesn't belong at all. It's so weird how Disney is willing to throw themeing out the window sometimes, but so married to it in other situations (like…sticking to a ridiculously small timeline in Galaxy's Edge).
Dinosaur 🦕 is a great ride! I only go to Animal Kingdom one out of every 4 or so trips, so the last time I went on Dinosaur, I hadn't been on it in awhile and was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. I'll be sad to see it go, I would rather them keep it and put Zootopia somewhere else. (Also, my little boy loves Dinoland – that park doesn't have a lot for the littles. Kids love dinosaurs in general.)
GMR going was awful. So awful. I like Runaway Railway, but I hate that it's in the Chinese Theater. They should have built RR somewhere else. They had the room to put it elsewhere. It hurts my soul still that GMR is gone.
Just like Disney the WDWNT Parks Center team forgot about the misery that is the WDS2 expansion or anything new for DLP 😅. We Europeans didn't even get 5 minutes worth on that Panel to get excited about
Local Eternals fan checking in!
1:29:33 That Frank Pepe’s pizza 👌🏻
there is a point. i think when they have a model is about the right balance.
blown away that AK expansion is so clear and not focused on. pandora, Africa, Asia …… South America. let’s them bring in encanto and give love to the massive brazilian fan base. and plenty of live animals to feature.
imagine if they had put lots of prehistoric looking animals into the land. alligator gar, the giant lizards, tortoises. could have told an evolution story.
make the experience better.
focus is on food and service. focus on maintenance and ride reliability.
fix the yeti.
i like the zootopia at the end of the train. could turn the ride into a story of disney using nature to animate. normal people don’t understand that direct connection.
Bye bye barges!!
