TLDR…Selling Plarium before players spend on Raid thereby lowering its value in a sale and putting it into their leading profit generator. Tells me the parent had wavering faith in the child.
Thanks for all your input Boozor! I remember you calling this out months ago! In my opinion, I don't see how it could be any worse lol. I actually also go to NY sometimes to play the slot machnes, I have probably lost money to them there also! lmao. Thanks again Boozor! Appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos!
Yeah no shit Mo Mummy won top performing slot. Took me forever to get a bonus and then it paid out diddly squat. And don't get me started about those fkin buffalo. Oh wait, we're supposed to be bitching about Raid: Shadow Legends.
Honestly I won't hold my breath that Raid is going to improve. Judging from the language the new company used, it is more likely they will adopting more of Plarium's sale tactics than the other way around. Besides that, the game is so inflated now after the rampant powercreep that there is probably no going back.

Wow 😮 so Plarium released Hydra changes whilst in the middle of selling their company ? 😂 🤦♂️ what a clown decision
The company that bought Plarium has failed at a lot in the mobile market, including making a platform to play all their mobile games on. They wanted the Plarium Play infrastructure to put all of their games on and that's basically it. Raid will not be any better under this new company.
Hope that a gaming company might do good to Raid instead of a Gambling company.
I've seen games and their producing companies sold like this before, and it was usually a short while before the game got shuttered.
The real question is what the new owners really intend to do with Plarium and its assets.
Someone is audition for chief financial officer for Fateless
It was sold because they were tires of listening to all the crybabies
40yo company is “really old” 😂😂.
A friend does mergers and acquisitions, long ass story short, our only hope at ever seeing them treat us better is if their numbers dip in the next few months so……. It’s now or never
Zzzzzzzz
SO.. The CEO transfer at the beginning of last year was for what? a precursor to selling? a stopment of developing the game, maximizing profit, dropping all the saved up events and content to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible before they sold and dipped? this company gets worse and worse by the day. They're lucky they sold when they did and honestly, we are lucky as well. This could very well save the game and have players stay/return. Lastly, i swear to ALL if i see ANYTHING.. even NON related 2 the company.. if it has the word or title Aristocrat, im full sprinting the opposite direction.
So what is MTG all about?
when you read "responsible gaming" and simply couldn`t stop laughing :))) priceless :)))
MTG announced that Raid would make back the amount of money they purchased it for in a year or less. The sale could also go from 620m to 820m pending on how much money they make. according to stuff i seen/read, Raid was about 10% of Aristocrats income. That's alot 2 just walk away from…the selling price being around the same as the annual income is very interesting to me, imo that says they didnt think the game was gonna last much longer and the analytics probably showed no more growth. What analytics failed 2 show them was the reason why.. because they were a-holes to their player base. Or maybe they just know Fateless was gonna purge all their players because we all know that game will be done as close to perfect as possible. People who actual PLAY THE GAME are the ones making the decions. Plus saph is smart af so im gonna say the champs in the game will be super well made and very well balanced and IF NOT, I KNOW THEY WILL FIX IT in good time.
appreciate you breaking this down!
i left raid 5months back have no idea how ppl supports this game and spend so much money on it
You are the man. Also had no clue that aristocrat owned raid. No wonder why this game is so addicting. I swear I've lost such a stupid amount of money to buffaloooooo
all I want is a dungeon to farm books man😭😭
i have complete confidence in you representing me in court. how many gems do you charge an hour?
8:20 "Pretty good game"? Yeah right. You could compare raid addiction to the same addiction drug addicts experience – it's "good" and "hooks you forever". I don't give them credit for anything. It's not their game developers who festered this "gameplay" loop but their psychological department.
Thanks for analysis, it was interesting to watch. Howerver we need to study the game future under MTG ownership. The company is worth $980mln while buying Plarium for $620mln…
I don't understand why you would want to pump up the numbers if that totally wrecks player retention. I've never seen so many long term players saying they're thinking about quitting as I have nowdays and it's really weird to me that MTG who bought Plarium didn't check the community before buying. Sure, you're buying a valueble Yacht, but what's the point if the Yacht is sinking?
I was so glad for Ash because of him I was introduce to your contents! .. And oh boy oh boy! … Your contents are high tiered! .. You've always been the first one to upload an informative video for Raid! … and Yep, I rarely hit the bell icon on a YT channel, and you are one of those rare channels that deserve my BELL ICON! Keep Grinding bro!
Dont understand people buying Fake Chips in social Casino . Get the Money in legit online Casino. At least there is Chance to win .
Thx boozor for your effort researching
I was waiting for your beakdown of the sale, thank you Boozor
Been following you for a while, Boozer, and this video got me to subscribe. I am optimistic for the future of Plarium.
Damn they really milked those whales and hooked a few big krakens XD.
RAID Shadow Legends MERCH Store. And meanwhile they destroyed Hydra and chased off long time Raiders. Thanks Paylarium!
Love the vidéo! Great job.
Damn, Boozer got Plarium by the balls. Investigative Journalism intensifies!
There are no free to play gamblers
Aristocrat bought Plarium and several other gaming companies not just to expand horizontally into an adjacent market but to expand their mobile know how as they wanted to push their core gambling business into mobile. 7 years later, job done, realise a profit and focus back on the core gambling.
The old pump and dump. Does not usually end well for the dumpee.
Working on user retention? That is why they keep pissing everyone off lmao
hey Boozor, I am afraid you'll be wearing a necktie soon!! Moving from fantasy murders&executions, to reality mergers&acquisitions?
Interesting stuff. Probably irrelevant to what direction Plarium takes RSL now though. While in-game sentiment is low, maybe even an all time low, it never translates to action against the game. People still play, and more importantly, still spend.
I always hated that this game I played was making money for a slot machine manufacturer and gambling lobbyists so I am incredibly bullish on this sale
One wonders if MTG AB did its due diligence prior to making the purchase. A simple search of You Tube would have shown the absolutely negative player sentiment towards the changes made by Plarium since October (important because the impact on revenue will be a lagging indicator and because the game is not bringing in new paying customers, thus increasing the importance of existing paying customers). Any delay in passing of ownership (one has heard that it could take up to a year) will most likely result in the passing over of a devalued property. This issue is even more important with the upcoming releases of King Arthur: Legends Rise and Godforge. If the games are even half as 'good' as RSL and the decision makers decide to treat their paying customers properly (e.g. not punishing the customers for the mistakes of the devs, who create the rules of the game, lack of playtesting, etc. and without compensation), don't be surprised to see an exodus of players from RSL. If it takes a year for new ownership to gain control, any 'please come back, we reverted those terrible and idiotic hydra changes, here is one energy refill' isn't going to work. Not having played any MTG AB games, I am unsure of how much their DEI zealotry and obsequious obeisance that they advertise on their website makes it into the games. The woke trash religionists have almost zero skill when it comes to objective analysis. Given the unequivocal failure of a number of high profile AAA games in which DEI nonsense was foisted on a playerbase that didn't ask for or want it, should give pause. Of course, if the things actually go as expected after the recent elections in the US, the money spigot for ESG will be closed off and their will be little to no Blackrock/Vanguard propping up of stock prices for companies that make decisions that result in divestment by the customerbase.
I wonder how many dead accounts there are in Raid. Wish Plarium would become transparant
19:28 I think this all makes total sense when you consider that most if not almost all raid players are gamers at heart, who want a good fun game that doesn't force the companys monetization practices down their throats, rather than true casino gamblers looking to risk their life's savings in attempt to increase the amount of money lining their pockets only to have it all taken without a second thought. Not saying that gamers don't get like this, but hopefully my point is seen. The focus should be on the quality of the game rather than gains from toxic monetization.
I don’t expect any change to Plarium’s antics and slowly I will become fully f2p. They want raid to be a game for the whales and krakens than low spenders like myself will loose interest in the game. Who is gonna forsake real world materials for ingame items or champions.😢
Love these kind of videos +1 EDIT to add you going to see some of MTG best mobile games come to Plarium play….trust me 😉 I look forward to it
