  5. In the past, my country, Japan, fought many countries.

    Of course, there is no arguing that Japan was wrong.

    But now many of those countries and Japan have become very close friends.

    Especially we had a big fight with America, but now we respect and love them.

    So we can believe that the US and other friendly countries will help us.

    And of course we will never allow our friends to be hurt. We will never abandon Ukraine.

    Please, Russians, realize your mistake.

    Your mistake is exactly the same as Japan's mistake in the past.

    There is no enemy anywhere.

    If there is an enemy, it is your indifference and ignorance.

  6. As a half Japanese American who has lived in Japan for over a decade I have to say the timing of this news is curious. Just a few days ago, the LDP was talking about increasing income tax to pay for self defense costs, and now the media says Russia planned to attack Japan. 🧐 I don't want to say this is propaganda but the timing is interesting. They will never give back those islands. Never. Economic support first my behind.

  9. I wonder how China would react to Russia starting a war with Japan so close to home?
    There are 20,000+ US soldiers stationed in Japan, so I doubt the Russians would have actually invaded.
    If they were planning something, it was likely a very limited naval/air conflict over the Kuril Islands.

  13. The Russians would have got their asses kicked if they attacked Japan even if Japan didn't ask its allies for help. It would have resulted in the end of the Russian Far East with Japan seizing back its lost islands and China re-occupying Outer Manchuria plus a bit more, like all of the Far East.
    If Putin the Putrid thinks defeat in Ukraine is intolerable, losing the Far East to China and Japan would be far worse and what could Russia do?
    China has the World's 2nd biggest economy and 2nd most powerful military plus nuclear weapons, wants its land back. Japan has the 3rd biggest economy and a very under-estimated, quiet military that is extremely modern, high tech and professional plus it has the US nuclear umbrella.
    What does Russia have as a minor economy based on large mineral resources and a joke of a military riven with corruption, poor leadership and antiquated weaponry better suited to European war 50 years ago. It would be like a horde of loin cloth-clad warriors armed with spears and daggers going up against a line of riflemen, Gatling guns and rapid firing howitzers. Japan remembers being unprepared to fight the Red Army in the 1940s, they are ready now.

  27. Well WW2 and Japanese atrocities are facts – you just need to look at Unit731 and what they did to Chinese civilians not to mention experimenting with biological warfare.
    Ironically the same type of inhumanity Ruzzia and CCP China wallow in today.
    Though no excuse to invade Japan in the present day.

  32. Dictators do stupid things. It's like the old days when Kings coveted their neighbors territory, just look at a map and say , I want that ! And don't forget the Rothschilds Banking Conspiracy in the past that pitted on kingdom against another and was probably deeply involved with the slave trade…..O'My Jesus forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven especially those who have most need of thy mercy Amen.

  40. That would have been a HUGE mistake for Russia. Russia can't supply it's forces in Ukraine how TF were they going to attack Japan? There had to be provisional talks with China and NK to help them carry it out which would have resulted in WW3 for DAMN sure. The US would take an active role defending Japan. Not that Japan couldn't defend itself.

Whilst Japan isn't in NATO, because it's can't be as in Japan isn't in the North Atlantic (the same reason why Australia can't technically join) it is an observer (same as Australia) so there would be some precedent for the NATO nations to assist. Japan is also a member of the Quad which means the USA, Australia and India would be dragged in. Russia can't even fight a war on its western border, and they thought they could fight a war in their far east where they barely any population? Going up against some of the best militaries in the world using one of your weakest military districts is not a great idea at all. The only thing keeping Vladivostok alive is its trade with the Pacific nations who would soon stop all trade and blockade Russia's Pacific ports.

  45. Where were they planning to attack? I am confused, Russia already have possession of those islands. So exactly what was the point here? Where they going to take some of Japan's current possessions? That would pretty much be the home islands. Seems like a stupid desire, if that was the case.
