  1. People make it bad for other people that have anything on their block it's a shame it's pitiful you got small kids that want to come outside they can't even come outside or let them shoot you going on or fight start or or cars running on payment is really a shame

  2. Really I don't think they should ever denied block party, as long as the whole block decided they want to have the party let them have it!

That's part of the problem in the city is that the city has a adversarial relationship with its residents it does not affect the residents who are" malicious" and will wanting me commit violence and crime it affects those trying to live in the neighborhood mostly of color. You have residents who have been there since the 60s the house is grandfathered down generations or , all three generations are still living in the house in some form. There are times when block captains are appointed that no one voted for and they're asking for a block party so it's not majority.

The other thing that the police in the city haven't thought about is that they deemed bat block a problem rarely is it ever the people that live on the block that's a problem. Especially if they are working that makes the block ripe for people who aren't working and are selling drugs cuz they know those people aren't home.

And the last thing is the kids are suffering for The last 5 years that they have started this permit for blocking off the street, to have a play Street , block party or just feed the kids in the summer months. I don't know about everyone else but when I grew up I didn't want to go to camp because there was so much fun on my block in my neighborhood! If it wasn't my block it was the 200 block or it was Hobart right around the corner, you could spend all day on 10 blocks and never go in the house for food.

  3. I am sorry for these folks, truly, but I'm seeing the citys' view. Let's say most of the actual residents of this block are good , decent, non trouble making, the city sees the track record of where incidents are happening for 365 days of the year. The trouble makers/criminals who come to the block, area and commit crimes, maybe shootings drugs or gang activity, car hit and runs, car thefts, etc, assaults, dont have to be residents but lower the bar for safety for EVERYONE. Sadly the consequences will be applied to innocent people too ! I bet the city doenst want to see an angry person mow down pedestrians at an event like this. OR same a shooting event !!
I really hope they CAN have their block party !
